Grand Theft Auto V. A game that conjures up images of 'adult' themes, and violence fueled battles. A game that mirrors the bustling life of Los Angeles with their own Los Santos, showing off both the glamorous and the seedy underbelly of the city. A game where you can go skydiving in one minute, and then land in the middle of the city and start blowing up cars. The action packed, open world game has never been afraid to delve into weird and insane territory, that's for sure. This game has become a cult classic in the world of video games, but even a cult classic isn't perfect.

The world of Grand Theft Auto V is filled with some insane mistakes. Sometimes they can be funny or innocent, and other times they can be outright crazy, disturbing, or just plain weird. In this article we are going to take you on a journey to find some of the most messed up and hilarious mistakes in Grand Theft Auto V. Whether it's strange behavior from the NPCs of the game, or how your character can end up halfway across the map because of a sudden glitch — this game is jam-packed with mistakes. Not to mention that Trevor Phillips can account for 90 percent of the game's high-octane mistakes, as he is practically the avatar of chaos and destruction in this world. Let's dive into the sometimes funny and often dangerous world of GTA V!

15 Lester's Cane

via - http://traumaandcupcakes.tumblr.com/post/159701187504/michael-playing-with-lesters-cane-is-rly-cute

Early on in the game, it was established that Lester cannot walk without a cane. However, in the mission Cleaning Out The Bureau, Lester is able to walk up the stairs of the garment factory without a cane. Whether this was a minor glitch in the game or if this is a continuity error within the story itself, getting to see the otherwise disabled or injured Lester making his way casually up the stairs was definitely a sight to see. The only way it would have been better is if he had stormed up those steps and punched Steve Haines square in the jaw. Although an innocent enough mistake, this was definitely one of the more unexpected mistakes to take place in the game.

14 Freezer Trouble

via - http://www.gameswhat.com/trevor-philips-industries-gta-5-mission-19/

A plot hole in the game itself. When Trevor gets a call from Chef that his meth operation is about to be attacked (and he locks Mr. Cheng and his translator in the freezer outside his meth house), the translator can be heard banging on the door begging to be let out. However, Trevor never locked the freezer, and so the translator should have been able to open up the freezer door with ease. The flaw was never explained, as the translator's banging on the steel door should have moved the unlocked door and shown him that he was not trapped as he believed, not to mention that the sound of gunfire should have been a clear indicator to keep himself tucked away within the freezer.

13 Repossessed

via - http://gtaforums.com/topic/575749-what-do-you-think-will-be-our-first-vehicle/

When Franklin and Lamar go to get a bike that was stolen from them in Vespucci Beach, one of the ways the player can stop them is by running them over with their car. After the shootout begins with the gang members, the thief will take off with the bike, and you must give chase. You can, of course, shoot the thief off the bike, but you can also choose to run the man on the bike over. If you choose to do this, when you go to retrieve the bike the body is gone. This is a continuity error, as there's no way the body should have disappeared that quickly, and the disappearance, when combined with the left behind bike and blood on the ground, makes this seem more sinister than the actual killing itself. Yikes!

12 Cleaning Out The Bureau

via - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3atssLmakw

Michael and Dave Norton arrive at the Garment Factory, followed by Steve Haines, the FIB agent who has been running the operation thus far and has been a total pain the butt. However, when Haines arrives, he has no limp, despite having shot himself in the leg in the previous mission. Earlier, Steve, Dave, and Michael infiltrated a government site to recover a biological agent that was going to be used to increase government funding. During that mission, Steve stayed behind and shot himself in the leg to make it look like he was working to stop the theft. Yet in the next mission, he strolls in like he's already completely healed. This is a definite story glitch.

11 Mixed Signals

In the mission Parenting 101, Michael finds out that Jimmy has been kidnapped by an online personality that he has been trolling on the internet. When Michael goes to rescue Jimmy from the car he's being kidnapped in, a phone call takes place in which you can hear the kidnapper fighting with Jimmy. However, at the same time, you can see Jimmy at the back window of the car yelling at his dad for help. The audio of the phone call doesn't match the visual image of Jimmy in the car. This is either a subtle glitch or the developers didn't match the audio correctly, because soon after Jimmy begins to address the kidnapper as Michael tries to stop the car from going further.

10 Paparazzi

via - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOnrjncTXWs

Early on in the game, Franklin is asked by Beverly, the paparazzo who recruited you to help him get photos, to help him sneak onto the property of Vinewood starlet Poppy Mitchell, who is there with her on and off screen boyfriend. After securing the sex tape of Poppy Mitchell, Franklin and Beverly flee the property and head toward Beverly's car. When Franklin enters the car, he does so through the back seat behind the driver. After the car chase ends, however, Franklin exits the car through the passenger side back door. There was no indication that he entered through the passenger side door or somehow slid over to that side of the vehicle, and so he should never have exited through that door.

9 House On The Hill

via - http://grandtheftauto.net/gta5/missions/marriage-counseling

In the GTA V mission Marriage Counseling, Michael chases his wife's tennis instructor/lover to a large mansion in the Vinewood Hills. Deciding to take revenge on the instructor, Michael and Franklin use a truck to tear the house down to the foundations. However, the house does not belong to the instructor, but rather a notorious Mexican mobster named Madrazo. After Michael tears down Madrazo's house on the hill, he drives 0.6 miles before being ambushed by his men. There was no time between the house and the ambush for Michael and Franklin to be identified and found so quickly. It would have made more sense to make a secondary mission or have time move forward a bit before being ambushed by the gangsters.

8 Mistaken Identity

via - https://www.gtanf.com/forums/topic/16307-les-bo%C3%AEtes-de-nuit/?page=2

One of the things gamers talk about a lot when it comes to GTA V is the fact that players can visit a strip club within the game. Each of the main characters in the game is able to give out compliments to the dancers during private dances. When Franklin arrives at the strip club and settles in for a private dance, he can compliment the woman giving him a dance. His fourth compliment is about liking her tattoos, even if the dancer has no tattoos. This is a minor glitch to be sure, but one would think that if you are going to sweet talk a dancer like that, you should at least be sure you take note of her before you make a compliment like that.

7 Merryweather Heist

via - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dTH_Ywi0bI

After Michael and Trevor have awkwardly reunited, Trevor feels he's owed a big heist, and so plans a heist against Merryweather, the private military company he has become obsessed with taking down. After the mission proves successful, Lester informs the team that the cargo they have stolen has set off several alarms within the intelligence community, and any attempt to sell the cargo would surely result in their capture, and so the team decides to return the cargo before it's too late. Trevor bashes his head against a wooden crate in anger, enraged that his hard work has come to nothing. However, if you look at him right after he bashes his head, he doesn't have a drop of blood on his forehead.

6 Burning Man

via - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjnlQwh4z-g

A bug when you switch between Michael to Trevor, you will find Trevor tying up a random man under a pier. If you decide to light him on fire after dousing him with gasoline from you Jerry Can, the man will start to burn, and then suddenly pop out of the ropes, running around on fire while the rope remains in place and unburned. The man will be running around screaming on fire as the rope continues to look like he's tied up, puffed outward where the man's chest would otherwise be located. Suddenly the man will pop back into the ropes and die, as if he never managed to escape, and leaving you the player scratching your head in absolute confusion.

5 Patrol Hijinx

via - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGuFP13EbCg

Throughout the world of GTA V, Highway Patrol officers can be seen on highways, watching traffic with patrol bikes next to them. However, when you drive past them with a wanted level, they will steal a civilian vehicle to chase after you. This make zero sense, as the bikes are right there next to them, and so this has to be a glitch. If the creators of the game wrote this into the game itself, then corrupt highway patrols have been scattered throughout the in-game world. This outcome seems unlikely however, so we just get this strange glitch where we get to watch the police become thugs. Hopefully this isn't what the highway patrol is actually doing out near Los Angeles...

4 Wrong Hat

via - http://www.lcpdfr.com/downloads/gta5mods/character/?sortby=file_views&sortdirection=desc&page=9&since=all_time

Uh Oh. Another mistake made by the officers of Los Santos. However this is but a minor mistake, as it's more a cosmetic thing rather than anything sinister. In Grand Theft Auto V, LSPD Officers wear hats that say Sheriff on them, even though the Sheriff's department is separate from the police department. As I said, just a cosmetic mistake, and yet for all the detail the developers go into with this game, it is crazy that something this minor would make it through development. So the more likely cause is a glitch, and one only the most keen observer would ever truly notice. That, or we have a conspiracy between the LSPD and Sheriff's Department brewing. I wonder...

3 Mrs. Madrazo's Kidnapping

Later in the game, Michael and Trevor pull off an assassination mission for Madrazo, the gangster who has now befriended Michael. However, Trevor being Trevor, decides that rather than wait to be set up for a bigger score as Michael suggests, takes offense when Madrazo refuses to pay him for the job. So he decides to attack Madrao and take his wife. After kidnapping Mrs. Madrazo, Michael and Trevor are forced to go into hiding in Blaine County, and are attacked if they enter the city of Los Santos. However, Franklin, a known associate of Michael, is free to move about LS without trouble. He should have been a target to Madrazo as well, and the fact that he was able to move freely is a definite story mistake.

2 Reality Vs. Fiction

via - http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/52308/grand-theft-auto-v-release-dates-and-exclusive-content

The GTA games take place in cities with fictional names that mirror real cities in our world. For instance, the city of Los Santos is actually the mirror image of Los Angeles, and Vinewood is the Hollywood of GTA V. However songs such as Bob Seger's Hollywood Nights don't change the lyrics to match the new names of the cities. If that lyric remains the same, then somehow Bob Seger's song from our world has managed to make it's way into the world of GTA V, where these cities do not exist and have instead been replaced. A minor oversight to be sure, but it can also be evidence that GTA V is a parallel world to our own, and somehow things from our world are bleeding into their own world. Can you say Mandela Effect anyone?

1 Mexican Standoff

via - http://www.lcpdfr.com/gallery/image/47636-mexican-standoff/

After their mission with the FIB, Michael goes to settle their debt and make sure that they are done being the government's criminals. However, when they go to meet, Michael learns that there is a massive double cross going on, as Haines pulls a gun on Michael and Sanchez pulls a gun on Haines. In the mission, The Wrap Up, Michael gets into a shootout with Steve, Dave Norton, and Agent Sanchez, along with the FIB and Merryweather. In this mission, Agent Haines has an automatic pistol, but when he shoots Sanchez in the head, he has the gun set to a single shot. This makes no sense as he wouldn't have brought an automatic weapon for a single shot use. Definitely strange considering the action packed level this turns out to be.
