Given the vast map size and the ample rooftops littering Verdansk, sniping is paramount in Call of Duty: Warzone. Though, with its extensive arsenal and the detailed upgrades provided by the gunsmith, deciding which is the perfect long-distance weapon of choice can be a bit tricky. There may only be three snipers in the game, but the five additional marksman rifles make up for the limited long-range firepower, especially with the newly-added Season 3 battle pass-exclusive SKS.

Below is a rundown of the most reliable snipers in the game, but which one of them would make Chris Kyle proud?

The Competition

• HDR: Arguably the best sniper in the game, the HDR is a killer long-range weapon with precision accuracy and heavy-hitting damage. It's highly recommended to mod this sniper with a thermal scope or, at the least, an optic with optimal range, alongside an upgraded barrel and an extended clip. Pair this sniper with one of the best assault rifles for breaking armor in Warzone for an unbeatable loadout.

EBR-14: Underrated when it comes to sniping, the EBR-14 is the perfect tool when having to switch between both long and short-range bouts. It's the best replacement for the heavy-set HDR and AX-50, allowing for better movement in the heat of battle. When surrounded by different opponents, this weapon is a lifesaver not only for its high damage output but for its insane rate of fire.

KAR98K: Interestingly, this marksman rifle was classified as a sniper in previous Call of Duty titles, and is just as powerful as those in Modern Warfare. Though it may have one of the worst fire rates on this list, the KAR98K is still a beast. It is, after all, among the strongest weapons in Warzone.

AX-50: With almost identical stats to the HDR, the AX-50 is a stellar weapon that is often overlooked when it comes to more close-range combat sniping. Despite a lower bullet velocity than the HDR, the AX-50 makes up for it in reload speeds and ridicule positioning. After every shot, the AX-50 seamlessly recenters on-target, unlike the more long-range-friendly HDR.

SKS: This newly-added beauty is an M1 Grand enthusiast's dream come true. Though it does require players to reach level 30 in the Season 3 battle pass, it's definitely worth the grind. The SKS is suited best for close-range silenced sniping, due to the combined efforts of the tactical suppressor and M59/66 barrel modifications.

The Hammer of God

The debate over which two snipers is best still stands in the community. Is it the HDR or the AX-50? They both have their pros and cons, highlighted best in a comparison video by TheXclusiveAce. Through careful research and trial runs, he discovered the HDR not only has swifter ADS speeds and better bullet velocity but also zero long-range drop. Thus, the HDR is far more precise than the AX-50, even from 300 meters or more away. Still, the AX-50 does have a better fire rate and is best suited for more close-range sniping, so it all comes down to preference.
