EA has been accused of trying to silence criticism over its newly-released FIFA 20, with fans in uproar over the game's Career Mode.

The hashtag #FixCareerMode took off within the first 24 hours of the title's release as players appear to have had it with EA's ignoring of one of the game's most popular modes. Apart from the crazy scheduling that has plagued Career Mode for years, there are several other concerns where it's concerned, including unrealistic starting XIs, repetitive press conferences and annoying bugs.

Even Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is urging EA to fix the game, particularly the mode that allows gamers to take up careers as either players or managers with the club of their choice.

Since the game's Friday release, players have swarmed EA's help website with complaints. But, according to Reddit user SpookyMulder, the devs have been deleting negative comments.

"As far as 7 days ago, players reported bugs to EA about FIFA 20's Career Mode. EA responded by deleting threads and comments on their forum," the user posted to Reddit on Friday. "The game officially launches today with one of their biggest modes broken."

The post cites a megathread on EA's forum, which was still up at the time of writing. But the Reddit account is suggesting that the devs are trying to silence the FIFA community following the discovery of eight new bugs.

"EA has shut down our forum in an attempt to silence the community," and update reads. "I have posted 8 new bugs in the forum and EA shut it down immediately after posting. That is where we currently are. Shame on you EA. I’m currently unable to repost as I may have been banned from posting on their forums."

Another user going by MedBoy101 wrote: "After they cleaned up my thread from bumping, @EA_Lanna welcomed criticism. The criticism continued as they said they don't silence that. After I posted 9 NEW REPORTED BUGS, EA closed my thread. EA is hours from release and tried to silence a report that the state of CM is unplayable."

EA has been forced to pay attention following rife complaints on Twitter.

FIFA 20's Global Franchise Lead, Corey Andress, has responded personally, promising changes albeit not in a timely fashion.

"Let me say that the team is aware and prioritizing fixes for this area and have been successful in identifying some of the issues. In terms of an ETA or exact changes, I can’t provide that yet, but also want to be transparent and say it won’t be immediate," Andress wrote.

"Being that Career Mode is client-based (offline), we need to patch. Patches take time as fixes have to be identified, fixed, tested and then certified by first-party. Our first patch is on the way and locked, so likely we’ve missed the ability to put CM fixes in that patch."

A developer Q&A has since been posted by EA, you could check it out here.
