One of the mysteries of the first PlayStation generation is about to be uncovered, as the original actress who portrayed Jill Valentine in Resident Evil has been found.

The original Resident Evil featured live-action scenes for its intro and endings. These FMV sequences have become infamous for their shoddy acting. The actors in the scenes used incomplete or false names, either due to not wanting their name attached to the project or concerns regarding the Screen Actors Guild, as the union rules for acting in games hadn't been established yet (which is also why most of the voice actors in the original Metal Gear Solid worked under assumed names).

There are enterprising Resident Evil fans who have tracked down almost every actor who appeared in the first game, and it seems the last one has been discovered. According to dr_raichi on Twitter, the actress who played Jill Valentine has been found and an interview will be coming soon.

Jill was originally portrayed by an actress who was referred to as Inezh in the credits of the game, which didn't give the fans much room to work with. According to interviews with other cast members, Inezh was incredibly young when she worked on Resident Evil and complained about the mosquito bites when filming scenes. Fans have discovered modeling pictures she did while working in Japan, but this is the first time that she has been contacted for an interview.

Jill Valentine has been portrayed by numerous actresses over the years, especially when you take into account her voice, mo-cap, and face model. These have included people such as Julia Voth, Amra Silajdžić-Džeko, and most recently, Sasha Zotova. Inezh was the original Jill Valentine in the eyes of many fans, and it's amazing that she has finally been found after all of these years. Now that Inezh has been found, it might be possible to get all of the remaining Resident Evil actors to appear on a panel together at a con and discuss their experiences filming the live-action scenes for the game.
