Square Enix officially revealed Outriders back in 2019 during the E3 event. And after almost two years today, Outriders has been released worldwide available PS4, PS 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Google Stadia, and PC. The launch timings are a bit different depending on which platform you're on. On consoles, Outriders launch at midnight, April 1st, and for PC and Stadia users, the game will launch at 9 AM Pacific, as this is the default release time for Square Enix on these platforms.People Can Fly released a demo for Outriders that featured the opening story mission and the prologue of the game.
Players could unlock 10 legendary weapons by grinding world activities, opening chests, etc. Initially, there weren't any epic (purple) gear available in the demo, but players found out one of the in-game vendors sells these epic weapons and armor occasionally. So today, we're going to discuss how you can easily farm epic weapons and armor in Outriders.
Outriders Epic Gear Farm
This is the similar chest farm players figured out in the demo. The difference is, while you could unlock legendary gear in the demo, PCF has tweaked these chests to drop epic weapons and armor pieces now. It is still possible to get legendary gear from world chests if the RNG is on your side.
For this farm method, you need to complete Rift Tower missions, these missions were available in the demo. So, if you've progressed through the demo, you're good to go.
From the lobby menu, go to "Select Story Point" and select Rift Town and under its missions, select the third mission that says, "Confront the Altered at the Tower." Keep in mind to select the highest World Tier you've unlocked as this will increase your chances to unlock epic and legendary weapons.
There are a total of five chests in this area in this mission. However, we would suggest farming the first three chests as they are in close proximity to each other and it will save you a lot of time if you just farm the first three, back out, and load back in the mission. Keep in mind that the epic gear drops are random. We've seen a couple of players getting epic weapons and armor pieces from these chests. So, it does work. That's it for this guide.
