Yesterday, we reported that a new RPG announcement from Sega had been spotted in the schedule for Tokyo Game Show. Now, that has been officially confirmed, albeit on the down-low, as the company quietly launched an official website for this new game.

Unfortunately, however, it seems to already be leaving some disappointed. The teaser trailer released ahead of its TGS appearance confirmed that the mysterious title will be a mobile release, leaving many in the comments to assume it will be a live service rather than a single-player experience.

The trailer has only been released in Japanese, but negative comments in both Japanese and English are flooding the video. At the time of writing, it has 2.1k dislikes vs 582 likes, not putting it in a good place for its official reveal at all.

It appears that Sega wasn't anticipating this reaction, as it has gone to some effort to hype the unnamed RPG up before its official reveal. The website features animated artwork and a live countdown to its TGS appearance. On top of this, it showcases some of the game's music.

The lack of any information initially seemed to let everyone's imagination run wild. Heck, in our coverage we even speculated that it could be an instalment in the Valkyria Chronicles series, or even something from Phantasy Star and Yakuza. Needless to say that a mobile title is a far cry from any of those ideas.

Sega's unnamed RPG will have its proper reveal October 1, the second day of the Tokyo Game Show. Fingers crossed the company has something else up its sleeve for its showcase, because it looks like whatever this is just won't cut it. Right now the website lists a lineup of Phantasy Star Online 2, Virtua Fighter Esports, Sonic Colors: Ultimate, and Lost Judgment. In any case, the latter should at least be pretty exciting, as we gave Lost Judgment a 4.5/5 in our review.
