One of the driving forces of gameplay in The Sims 4 is your Sim's aspiration. You choose their aspiration in Create-A-Sim (CAS) from various categories, such as family, food, and creativity, to best suit your Sim's traits. If your Sim loves the outdoors, is active, and is ambitious, then you'll likely want to choose a trait from the athletic category, for example.
There are over fifty aspirations to choose from when including all available DLC, so picking the perfect aspiration for your Sim may not be easy. This list of some of the best aspirations available in the game will help you narrow it down to find the best aspiration for you.
12 Grilled Cheese
If you went into CAS to find this aspiration and have come back confused, it isn't your fault. This aspiration actually isn't available in CAS; you have to unlock it in-game. To do so, have your Sim make three grilled cheese sandwiches and then have them eat all three in a row. You will receive a notification that the aspiration has been unlocked, and your Sim can then follow their grilled cheese dreams. The final step of the aspiration is to eat one in space, so hopefully, your Sim has some rocket science skills, too.
11 Fabulously Wealthy
There are plenty of ways to earn money in the Sims 4, and if your Sim works hard at their career, scours for rare collectibles, and picks up a lucrative hobby, soon enough, you'll be able to complete this aspiration. One of the more lucrative careers is the military, as your Sim can earn over 10,000 Simoleons in their first week, letting them easily finish the first step of this aspiration.
But, maybe your Sim is just too busy to dedicate everything to their job, and they're looking for an easier way to complete this aspiration. You can always use the "motherlode" cheat to easily add the cash right into their account. Just make sure no other Sims ask them where it came from.
10 Country Caretaker
If you love the gameplay in the Cottage Living expansion pack, then this aspiration will be a breeze to complete. Most of the steps in this aspiration involve completing everyday farm tasks, like caring for your animals and fertilizing crops. You may not even notice that you're halfway through your Sim's aspiration as you go through your gameplay. The reward for finishing this aspiration will let your animals live longer, crops sell for more, and you'll even get a discount on your bills in Henford-on-Bagley!
9 Friend Of The World
Does your Sim love going out and meeting new people? Do they have the outgoing trait? Then they'll have no trouble completing this aspiration. All you need to do for this aspiration is have your Sim successfully socialize. You can easily accomplish this by having your Sim go to bars and parks in their world, introduce themselves to everyone they meet, and then throw parties to improve relationships. Once your Sim completes this aspiration, they won't have to put as much effort into their friendships, either, as time apart will never lower their relationships.
8 Beach Life
What's better than lounging by the water, toes in the sand, with a coconut in hand? Some Sims like to take life a little easier, and this aspiration is perfect for them. Sulani is the best world to complete this aspiration in, as your Sim can relax beach-side in their very own beach house. This aspiration is so easy to complete that its final stage is falling asleep in a lounge chair. Once your Sim finishes this aspiration, they will never have the pesky tense moodlet again.
7 Super Parent
The thing you would need most to complete this aspiration is for your Sim to have a child. Once they've done that, the rest is pretty easy. Most of the steps in this aspiration can be achieved by just parenting your younger Sim.
Have your Sim spend lots of time with their child. Help them with schoolwork, give them advice, and don't be afraid to discipline them. Having more than one child will help your Sim complete the goals faster, as well, as the more times they interact with their child, the quicker their parenting skill will rise.
6 Soulmate
Love is in the air, and your Sim wants to find it. This aspiration is perfect if you're already planning a love story for your Sim. Each of the steps easily corresponds to the steps of a relationship, from dating to marriage, with one of the biggest goals being having your married Sims interact romantically with each other. The other big goal is reaching soulmate status with their spouse, which is achieved when they are in the 75-100 level of romance. When your Sim completes this aspiration, they'll unlock exclusive social interactions they can use with their soulmate.
5 Renaissance Sim
If you're still having a hard time choosing an aspiration, then this is the best one to choose. A Sim with this aspiration wants to do everything, so there's no need to limit them. The goals of this aspiration are to pick any skills you want your Sim to learn and have them advance through them, so it may be smart to pick skills like cooking and charisma that your Sim can gain through everyday tasks and interactions. The trickiest part will be that your Sim will have to reach level 3 in 3 different careers, meaning they'll have to start from the bottom twice to complete this aspiration.
4 Body Builder
If you're athletic Sim has room for a home gym, this aspiration will be easy for them to complete. It consists mostly of your Sim working out for set hours and raising their fitness skill, which can quickly be done when you set your game on the fastest speed. It's also helpful if your Sim joins the athlete career, as it shares similar goals as this aspiration, so your Sim will be able to advance in both. Best of all, once your Sim completes this aspiration, they will live much longer than the average Sim.
3 Master Chef
All your Sim truly needs to work through this aspiration is a good appetite. The Master Chef aspiration requires your Sim to level up their cooking and gourmet cooking skills and advance in the culinary career. Cooking is something your Sim will need to do every day (unless they frequently order takeout) so leveling up their cooking skill should be easy. Each aspiration also comes with a bonus trait, and this one has Essence of Flavor, which will have your Sim consistently produce high-quality meals.
2 Big Happy Family
A big aspect of The Sims 4 is family, and that's what this aspiration is all about. It hinges more on the other Sims in the household than the one with the aspiration, as it requires things such as a child Sim having three friends and grandchildren being born into the family. But, thankfully, you can play as all members of a family at once, so achieving those goals is entirely in your control. Additionally, having a Sim complete this aspiration benefits everyone, as their presence will provide skill boosts to their children when they are around each other.
1 Best Selling Author
There are six creativity traits that will guide your Sim to become a painter, a musician, an actor, a maker, a knitter, or a writer. The writing aspiration can be done slightly quicker than others and yields one of the most powerful rewards in the game. Make sure your Sim has the loner trait, as they will have to spend most of their time alone at their computer typing away to quickly produce books. Once they've had three bestsellers and earned enough royalties, they will complete the aspiration and earn the ability to write a Book of Life. Each book can be tied to one Sim; if they pass, the book can be used to bring them back.
