In order to complete Gunther's museum collection in Stardew Valley, you'll need to find all the artifacts scattered randomly around the world. Every day, new artifact spots will pop up, and sometimes they even give you duplicate ones. If you explore enough, you'll eventually collect them all, even though it might be rather time-consuming.
The best time to dig around for artifacts is during the winter season, where there are more artifact spots around than usual. Donating them to the museum for the first time will unlock various rewards from Gunther, including the Ancient Seed crafting recipe, which is one of the most important ones in the game. Best Ways To Find Artifacts In Stardew Valley
Newcomers to Stardew Valley might notice strange wiggling worms protruding from the ground at various locations. These are called artifact spots. Digging them up with a hoe has the chance to yield artifacts or resources like clay and rocks. A hoe can also be used to dig up the dirt found inside the mines and Skull Cavern, so never go mining without bringing a hoe with you. The monsters encountered in both areas also sometimes drop artifacts.
While fishing, it's sometimes possible to find a treasure chest, and these can also contain artifacts and other resources. If you can get your hands on an artifact trove, which can be bought from the Desert Trader or dropped by a Haunted skull or even found at Ginger Island's Dig Site, they usually contain various artifacts as well. Finally, for bone artifacts, in particular, you'll want to mine Bone Nodes typically found at Ginger Island's Dig Site.
