Anime and gaming tend to go hand-in-hand and there's nothing like finishing an anime and jumping into a game that gives off the same vibes. Most licensed anime games are subpar at best, so most fans have to find interesting connections to get quality experiences that connect to their favorite anime.

10 Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Out of all of the games on this list Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is likely the most obvious reach. Its connection to Attack on Titan may not seem apparent, but out of all of the Assassin's Creed games, this one feels like it has the closest aesthetic and feel to the world of that anime.

Some of the primary locations in the anime feel reminiscent of Japan or Germany, but unfortunately, neither of those locations have been the place in which an Assassin's Creed open-world game has taken place. It's a blast to explore London and hunt down targets as a calculated assassin.

9 Fallout 3

Attack on Titan, from a narrative perspective, does a great job at peeling back layers of the world to reveal new things. Viewers come to learn of what the world is like outside the walls in real-time alongside the characters in the show.

The moment Eren and his friends leave the walls and adventure out feels surreal in the moment. Leaving a vault for the first time in a Fallout game feels the same way and, between Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, or Fallout 4, several options could provide the feeling of transitioning from a claustrophobic environment into an open world.

8 Monster Hunter Rise

In many ways, one could consider the scouts in Attack on Titan to be monster hunters of sorts. Though Titans are human-like they still act with a primal and vicious attitude. So not only does Monster Hunter: Rise connect in that way to the anime, but this latest release in the Monster Hunter franchise introduces a grappling hook for players to use.

It's called Wirebug because it's a living bug that produces strong silk. Considering this is the newest game on this list, this may be the best place to satiate Attack on Titan-related desires.

7 Bioshock

How on Earth could an immersive simulation game like Bioshock relate to Attack on Titan? Well, each of them does a wonderful job of providing mysteries that the audience yearns to get answered and unlike a J.J. Abram's film, they provide answers that satiate the audience.

They also both happen to be much scarier than people give them credit for and make the main characters face challenges that feel almost impossible to overcome. They also both thematic deal with the concept of the rich willing to sacrifice the poor.

6 Painkiller: Hell & Damnation

Painkiller: Hell & Damnation is easily the most obscure and least known video game on this list. That's a shame considering how many jaw-dropping moments this game has during its boss fights. Like Attack on Titan, this game loves to showcase the scale and display how insignificant humans can look when juxtaposed to something so colossal.

It's a first-person shooter that's equal parts remake and sequel to the original Painkiller and can be found most easily on PC. The boss fights will make the player feel as if they're a scout overcoming incoming titans.

5 Shadow of the Colossus

Another title that relates to the sense of awe from the use of scale in Attack on Titan is the classic video game Shadow of the Colossus. On top of having one of the most unique and gorgeous art styles and direction in the entire gaming industry, it's one of the few games where the player slays giant beasts.

As the story unfolds it becomes clear that things aren't exactly black and white, which is similar to how Attack on Titan slowly reveals the perspective of the titans and how things often aren't how they appear to be.

4 Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

In terms of both Japanese influence and omnidirectional gear Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice from FromSoftware is a perfect video game for fans of Attack on Titan. That being said, this game can be relatively difficult, so it may not be best for those coming to gaming as a novice.

The story does a good job at playing with different moments in time and connecting them in a way that clicks in brilliant ways. Eren's story isn't similar to Sekiro's at all, but they both are determined individuals looking to find answers to the most tragic events of their lives.

3 Titanfall 2

Whenever someone watches Attack on Titan for the first time, they often lose their minds at the moment of the Scouting Regiment and it becomes an immediate fantasy experience. Everyone wants to feel what it's like to move and traverse the world in an omnidirectional suit.

Titanfall 2 may be a first-person shooter, but it offers so much more than just gigantic mechs and solid gunplay. On top of what many consider to be one of the best campaigns in the genre is a gameplay system where players can grapple and wall run at a pace the closest video games have gotten to Attack on Titan.

2 Just Cause 4

The idea of shooting oneself into the air with a grappling hook without the fear of falling and hurting themselves is a power fantasy associated with both Attack on Titan, as well as many video games.

Humans are often obsessed with the notion of flying and the grappling hook in the Just Cause series is iconic for its ability to make movement feel ethereal and majestic. The grappling hook can also be used to pull vehicles together, send an explosive barrel towards an enemy, and cause as much destruction as the day the colossal and armored titans appeared and destroyed the outer wall.

1 Attack on Titan 2

Thankfully for fans of Attack on Titan, there exists a fairly recent licensed game that does a decent job of providing a gaming experience for the anime. The game is called Attack on Titan 2 and released in 2018, where it received reviews ranging between 7 and 8 on 10 point review scales.

Outside of a few surprise cases anime games are often poorly received, but this entry happens to be good enough that it's recommended for any fan of the anime looking to spend more time in a world they are interested in with characters they feel attached to.
