There are video games getting released all the time, which means that there's a game out there for practically anyone. Young girls are getting into gaming at a higher rate than ever before despite the medium still catering to young and adult males through major advertising campaigns.

Over the years,  the Xbox One platform has done a great job at curating games of differing genres in hopes of providing experiences for both sexes and any age demographic. Below is a list of some of the best Xbox One games for girls under the age of 10. Take a look and see what might be a young girl's next favorite game.

For example, a game could be rated for Everyone, but could actually have a lot of text in it, and so isn't ideal for very young gamers. To that end, we've put together a list of 15 awesome Xbox titles that are great for girls under the age of ten. Check out our top picks just below.

15 Ooblets

Ooblets gameplay

Ooblets is currently still in Game Preview, meaning that it is not entirely finished, however, it is more than playable and the creators keep adding content updates and patches to improve the game.

This adorably cute game mixes simulation game mechanics such as crafting and farming, with monster collecting and battling mechanics similar to Pokemon but with a cute twist — the battles are dance battles. The little creatures you collect are called Ooblets, and once you find a seed of theirs, you have to plant it in your garden to recieve your Ooblet, and there are loads to collect. Players can also customize their character and home.

14 My Time At Portia

My Time at Portia is a brilliant combination of RPG and simulation game genres. Players get to fix up and decorate their house, craft items, grow plants, romance and marry NPCs, as well as delving into dungeons and defeating monsters, or go mining for rare crafting materials.

This game can get quite involved, so it's more recommended for players nearing the age of ten. The game is set after the fall of civilization as we know it, so it is a much simpler time, however, players are able to uncover ancient technology.

13 Zoo Tycoon

Zoo Tycoon originally released for the Xbox 360 but was re-released for Xbox One and also recieved an updated version (The Ultimate Animal Collection) that includes even more animals and items. Though older Zoo Tycoon games for the PC were a lot more in-depth, this version is far more accessible to younger players.

They can build their own zoo, breed animals and complete challenges, as well as being able to play with up to four players in total. You can switch between an overview of your zoo, or step into the third person view of your keeper, where you can actually run and drive around your zoo and even feed and interact with your animals.

Calico is a beautiful, vibrant game that sees players take on the role of a cafe owner in a whimsical little town. This community sim game allows players to customize their character and shop, purchase new clothes and furniture, as well as adopt a variety of different animals that they can add to their cafe.

The game also involves baking, with players being able to collect different recipes so they can offer even more tasty treats in their cute little cafes.

11 Disneyland Adventures

Disney games are generally always a great choice for kids and Disneyland Adventures goes one step further in not only delivering on awesome Disney content, but letting you run wild around a virtual Disneyland theme park.

As well as getting to run around the park, buy clothing, meet your favorite characters and take pictures, you can also jump on lots of rides, which then begin various mini-games. This game has plenty to offer, from dancing with the princesses to flying with Peter Pan, there's something for everyone.

10 Yooka-Laylee

If you're a parent who grew up with all of the games Rare developed and delivered to fans, then you might want to pick up Yooka-Laylee for the young girl in your life who loves playing video games. Yooka-Laylee is made by many of the same developers who developed Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country. The main characters are an adorable chameleon and bat named Yooka and Laylee.

It features classic 3D platforming and harkens back to the old Rare platforming titles of the past. It may not be the masterpiece adults are looking to play, but it's a blast for kids of all ages.

9 A Hat In Time

A Hat In Time is an action-adventure game that was heavily inspired by games like Super Mario 64 and Spyro the Dragon. It's two main characters are both young girls, which is great for young gamers looking to see themselves represented. It features four large open areas to explore and is played in third-person.

A Hat In Time was nominated for both "Best Platformer" and "Best Family Game" the year it came out. Like Yooka-Laylee, it's not a perfect game by any means, but it does provide a rich and engaging experience for kids or adults looking to cash in on nostalgia.

8 Stardew Valley

This may be a bit of a curveball, but Stardew Valley is a crop management game that draws heavy inspiration from Harvest Moon. Players inherit a farm from their grandfather and set out to see if they can make a thriving life for themselves.

It has a pixel art style and features much more gameplay beyond the crops and farming. Stardew Valley is the type of game that doesn't require twitch reflexes or tons of skills, it's simply a game looking for you to focus on the big picture and falling in love with the process of everything.

7 Lego Worlds

Lego Worlds isn't going to win any awards for being the best game on the planet, but it does provide kids with a great sandbox to create, adventure, and brainstorm. When Minecraft first released many people asked why Lego didn't think of making the same type of game because it just made too much sense.

Lego Worlds is Lego's official answer to that Minecraft inspired question. You visit multiple worlds with specific themes like candy and safari and gather as many bricks as possible in hopes of taking them back to your own planet to build whatever you want to.

6 Super Lucky's Tale

Super Lucky's Tale is a 3D platformer that features a fox as the main character. It features a cartoony kid-friendly art style and isn't too difficult. It can often be found on sale, which provides an affordable entry point for parents who are looking to either get their kids into video games or provide additional experiences for their budding hobby.

The game focuses mostly on platforming in 3-dimensional space but does offer some sections of traditional old school 2D platforming, providing refreshing experiences for kids and kids at heart.

5 The Lego Movie Videogame

The Lego Movie was a hit in theaters and kids across the globe fell in love with all of the characters. Parents became very familiar with the hit song of the film Everything Is Awesome!!!. In the world of video games, the Lego series has provided a lot of games with most of them receiving pretty positive reviews and criticism.

If your daughter is interested in Star Wars or Jurassic Park, there are specified games for those properties, but The Lego Movie Videogame is the easiest choice as it's based on the film and not a licensed partnership with a different brand.

4 Crash Bandicoot: N'Sane Trilogy

The Crash Bandicoot games have a track record of being more difficult than they appear, but the N'Sane Trilogy which features remastered/remade versions of the first three games are perfectly suited for kids and teens alike.

The new trilogy also gives players the ability to play through a majority of the levels as Crash Bandicoot's sister, which is perfect for young girls who want relatable playable characters. 3 Slime Rancher

Slime Rancher may not be as well-known as other games on this list, but it provides just as much, if not more, entertainment for young kids as the others. Minecraft is the best-selling game of all-time and has recently passed Tetris for the honor. Minecraft is a game centered on building, crafting, and exploring. 1 Spyro: Reignited Trilogy

Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is a collection of the first three Spyro games fully redone to fit today's quality standards. They feature simplistic, yet challenging, platforming levels, and funny characters kids will enjoy. The game itself does focus on Spyro defeating enemies but features no blood or gore whatsoever.

They're meant to be fun platforming adventurous that have the player collecting gems, saving dragons, and laughing at all of the jokes and humor it has to offer. Having three games come in the same package provides great value for parents as well.
