The highly-anticipated annual FIFA game is soon to be released. With the game launching on September 27, the rumors and speculation have reached fever pitch. One of the big topics of conversation before release each year is how each player will be rated within the game, with everyone wanting their favorite player to be as high as possible each year.
Of course, when it comes to the top ratings, only the most elite soccer players are able to hit the coveted 90+, but which players should get that score in FIFA 20? Within this article, we will rank 10 players who are certainly worthy and must be given a higher than 90 rating.
10 Virgil Van Dijk
The Liverpool center half played a key role in the club winning the Champions League last season and had an incredible campaign in the Premier League as well, scooping up plenty of personal awards and accolades along the way.
There has been plenty of talk about Van Dijk actually winning the Ballon d'Or, so there is no doubt he is going to get a high score and seeing him rank over 90 in the game would not be a surprise. The Netherlands international will likely be the highest-rated defender in FIFA 20 this year, someone that everyone will want in their Ultimate Team.
9 Eden Hazard
Considering the fact that Eden Hazard is going to be on the cover of FIFA 20 this year, it seems almost impossible that the winger will not be rated higher than 90, as it wouldn't really make sense to have him on the front otherwise.
With Hazard having arguably his greatest ever season for Chelsea in 2018/19 and then making a £91 million transfer to Real Madrid, it is fair to say there is plenty of hype around the Belgian star. Given that he is one of the most talented soccer players in the world, with excellent speed, dribbling, and shooting, you can expect Hazard to be rated somewhere around the 92 level this time around.
8 Kylian Mbappe
He might only be 20 years old, but that doesn't mean that Kylian Mbappe doesn't deserve to be ranked over 90 in FIFA 20, as the Ligue 1 player has more than proven himself on the pitch in real life.
Mbappe scored 33 league goals last season, which is an incredibly impressive tally. There is no doubt that he will be getting an upgrade on his rank from last year, which saw him have an overall of 87. While it might be a very big leap to get him over the 90 mark, it is certainly justified with his fantastic performances. Mbappe is a player who is likely to score very well in the franchise (and very often in real life) throughout his career.
7 Christiano Ronaldo
It might seem a given at this point that Christiano Ronaldo will be ranked over 90 on any FIFA game, but after a season away from Real Madrid, EA Sports could decide to throw up a surprise by lowering his ranking.
However, it seems pretty safe to assume that Ronaldo will be rated over 90 on the game, and will probably be the joint highest rating alongside Lionel Messi, with both men still considered to be the top players in the world. Even though Juventus has partnered up with Pro Evolution Soccer this year, that doesn't mean that FIFA 20 will be neglecting the fact that Ronaldo is an incredible soccer player.
6 Mohamed Salah
In FIFA 19, Mohamed Salah wasn't even in the top 25 players in the game. However, after a second consecutive season as one of the Premier League's top players, it is unlikely he will be ignored once again.
Salah was the joint winner of the Golden Boot (with 22 goals) in the league last season and played a major role in helping Liverpool win the Champions League. While he still won't be the highest-rated player In the game, Salah is certainly going to be over 90 as Liverpool continue to be one of the most dominant teams in Europe.
5 Raheem Sterling
Speaking of top Premier League midfielders, Raheem Sterling is another player who deserves a serious bump to his rank this year, with the Englishman only having a rating of 85 in FIFA 19. Sterling went on to have an unbelievable season with Manchester City last season, helping the squad retain the Premier League in a year full of personal highlights.
Sterling has also started the new season on fire and looks set to be one of the top stars in the Premier League campaign, so let's hope that FIFA has got him ranked as he deserves this year.
4 N'Golo Kante
Chelsea FC may not have been as dominant as they're accustomed to being in recent seasons, but that doesn't mean that certain players within the team don't deserve to have high rankings.
N'Golo Kante is, without a doubt, one of the best defensive midfielders in the world right now and not ranking him accordingly would be an injustice to the Frenchman, who easily deserves a ranking of over 90. Chelsea winning the Europa League should give EA Sports an incentive to give him a slight boost in terms of his score, getting him over that 90 mark where he belongs.
3 Sergio Aguero
As the frontman for Manchester City, the Premier League Champions, it would be strange not to see Sergio Aguero rated over 90, especially considering how talented of a player he is.
Aguero is a constant goal threat and has been one of the most consistent strikers of his generation in terms of goals scored, which is why he deserves a high rating in the game. Aguero has been criminally underrated during his career, despite his performances, and hopefully FIFA 20 will give him the credit that he deserves.
2 Lionel Messi
Much like Christiano Ronaldo earlier on in this list, Lionel Messi is pretty much guaranteed to be ranked over 90, with fans likely creating an uproar if the Barcelona attacker doesn't get ranked highly.
The debate over which player is the best in the world will continue to rage on until they both retire, but FIFA will certainly keep them both rated highly, likely sharing the same ranking of 94 each. The Argentinian continues to break records and put in mesmerizing performances on a weekly basis.
1 Luka Modrić
Luka Modrić had an unbelievable 2018, which saw him win the Ballon d'Or after his Champions League triumph. He also put in an incredible performance in the World Cup for Croatia, which saw him really rise in the game.
However, last season saw Real Madrid struggle, which might have tempted EA Sports to lower Modrić ranking. Despite his team's poor performances, though, the Croatian was one of the highlights on a weekly basis. His personal performances didn't ever falter, and because of that, Modrić should be kept about 90 in the rankings.
