The 2021 Call of Duty League season is going to be iconic. The teams will be facing off in 4v4 again and will be moving away from Modern Warfare for Black Ops Cold War. On top of those exciting changes, 100 Thieves, and iconic esports organization have stepped into competitive Call of Duty once more after spending the first year of the CDL sitting out.

100 Thieves did not buy a franchise spot for the inaugural season of the Call of Duty League due to the high buy-in costs for each spot. For 100 Thieves founder Nadeshot, it was hard to justify going in for the $25 million to get a spot. Now, that has changed as Dexerto is reporting 100 Thieves have bought the OpTic Gaming Los Angeles spot and will rebrand as Los Angeles Thieves for the 2021 season. This has been rumored for some time but now it seems to be official.

Immortals owned the OpTic Gaming brand but have since sold it back to  Hector ‘H3CZ’ Rodriguez, owner of the Chicago Huntsmen squad and longtime icon of professional Call of Duty after helping shape the organization back in 2007.

It just feels right to have 100 Thieves back in the professional Call of Duty scene. It's where they started out and them missing out on the 2020 season didn't feel right. With them also changing the branding to Los Angeles Thieves, the OpTic Gaming name is free once more with many hoping the league will allow the Huntsmen to rebrand to Chicago OpTic, following in the footsteps of FaZe Clan with the Atlanta FaZe.

If this all comes to fruition, the 2021 season of the Call of Duty League has the chance to be some of the best professional C0D the scene has ever seen.
