12 Minutes, an interactive thriller about a man in a timeloop, will have heaps of Hollywood talent, including Daisy Ridley, James McAvoy, and Willem Dafoe.

The game places a large emphasis on drama as a police detective infiltrates your home and accuses your wife of murder - shortly thereafter, your character gets beaten to death. What makes this worse is that he's doomed to repeat the same 12 minutes over and over again; it's kind of a messed up Groundhog DayAnd just like Phil Connors, you'll have to figure out a way to break the loop by anticipating what comes next... just in a more gruesome way.

It's fitting that 12 Minutes has hired blockbuster actors given that developer Luis Antonio is inspired by classic thrillers such as Rear Window, The Shining, and Memento.

The game will be coming soon on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. No specific date or window has been provided.

This isn't the cast's first foray into video games - Daisy Ridley reprised her role as Rey for Disney Infinity 3.0, and Willem Dafoe is Jodie's father figure, Nathan Dawkins, in Beyond: Two Souls. Outside of the games industry, James McAvoy has established himself as a standout actor in the Unbreakable trilogy, so this isn't new territory for him, either.

12 Minutes seems to be a game that is approachable for all kinds of audiences with its stacked cast and simple point-and-click controls. The concept is easy to grasp as well, given that you're simply looking around a small space for solutions to the situation your character is in. Let's hope it succeeds in its attempt to evoke a distressingly tense atmosphere when it releases.
