Fortnite has added the ability for players to create larger parties via its latest updates for modes that include squad sizes bigger than four.

Despite the criticism it has been receiving from many of its more well-known players recently, Fortnite is the battle royale game that keeps on giving. After sitting atop the genre's mountain for more than a year, it was dealt a blow by the release of Apex Legends earlier this year. However, it has weathered that storm and remains unchallenged in the number one spot.

Epic would probably never admit that it was worried by Apex, but some of the features it added to Fortnite would suggest otherwise. The unveiling of the still-ongoing Endgame LTM has only further proved what a cultural phenomenon the game is. However, relating to Endgame and other large team LTMs, some players are frustrated that they can't play with more than three of their friends at a time.

If you are one of the players bothered by that, then we have some extremely good news. This week's Fortnite update has added the ability for players to host much larger parties. For game modes where teams are larger than four, you can now venture into them with a party as big as 16. That's quite the upgrade. If you try to enter regular Duos or Squads matches with 15 of your friends in tow, you'll be blocked from doing so.

Not only will your lobby look extremely busy with 16 of you in it, as you can see above, but you and your buddies will be broken up into four different teams. These don't really mean anything, but they do have rather amusing names. Llama (obviously), crab, bear, and dragon.

The tweet from Fortnite suggests that all large team LTMs will support parties of more than four players. We know for certain that the Endgame LTM supports it, so you can now search for/protect the infinity stones with as many as 15 of your friends. As if the mode wasn't entertaining and chaotic enough, things just got a whole lot better. You can also take your large parties into Creative Mode too.
