All of the original starter Pokemon cards from the Pokemon Trading Card Game will be receiving oversized promos in 2021, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series.

2021 marks the 25th anniversary of Pokemon Red & Green. As such, fans are expecting huge announcements for upcoming projects. The first major announcement is that Katy Perry is releasing a song about Pokemon, but fans are hoping to hear about the games, as well as any new Pokemon movie projects. 2021 feels like the year when we'll get the Pokemon Diamond & Pearl remakes, which could be announced on Pokemon Day in February.

The Pokemon Trading Card Game has been a major part of the franchise since the beginning, and it's also celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2021. To celebrate the occasion, The Pokemon Company has announced that oversized versions of the cards featuring the starter Pokemon from the series will be released throughout the year.

The Pokemon TCG: First Partner Packs will include three oversized cards featuring the starters of each generation. The Pokemon TCG First Partner Collector's Binder will give you the oversized original Pikachu card, where he appears in his chubbiest form, and it will be released on February 26. The Pokemon TCG: First Partner Pack (Galar) featuring Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble cards will be released on March 5. The Pokemon TCG: First Partner Pack (Alola) featuring Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio cards will be released on April 2. The Pokemon TCG: First Partner Pack (Kalos) featuring Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie cards will be released on May 7. The Pokemon TCG: First Partner Pack (Unova) featuring Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawatt cards will be released on June 4. The Pokemon TCG: First Partner Pack (Sinnoh) featuring Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup cards will be released on July 9. The Pokemon TCG: First Partner Pack (Hoenn) featuring Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip cards will be released on August 6. The Pokemon TCG: First Partner Pack (Johto) featuring Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile cards will be released on September 3. The Pokemon TCG: First Partner Pack (Kanto) featuring Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle cards will be released on October 8.

All of the Pokemon TCG fans started somewhere, and many were attracted to the game by the latest entries in the mainline Pokemon series. The starter Pokemon cards hold a lot of great memories for fans, and they'll soon be able to own them in oversized form.
