The Game Awards ceremony is almost here, and as a special treat, Xbox will be putting up demos for 35 games between December 7 and 21.
"We’re excited to present to you the ID@Xbox Winter Game Fest Demo event, once again as part of Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards," said Jessica Ronnell, Events and Community Management Lead, via a blog post We’re thrilled about how much fans really enjoy being able to dig their hands into these demos, so here’s another opportunity to discover lots of new games coming soon to Xbox."
The blog post noted that these will not be normal "game demos", like the ones usually hosted by Xbox. While those demos are created once a game is fully realised, these 35 will be from early versions of games currently in development and may not be out for quite some time. They're more akin to show floor demos, and will probably get some changes and polish once they're nearer to launch. You're also encouraged to share any feedback with the developers of the respective games via their social handles.
Xbox has revealed five of the games from this list, with more to be revealed at a later date. Loot River is a procedurally generated dungeon crawler featring labyrinths, roguelite elements, real-time combat, and dark fantasy. It also incorporates the "spatial block-shifting puzzles of Tetris."
Death Trash is set in a post apocalyptic world where cosmic horrors are met with shotgun wielding punks. It brings together old-school role-playing, modern action gameplay, and player freedom in a handcrafted world. Blacktail will retell the origin story of Baba Yaga. It will combine exploration, archery based combat and the dark storytelling of Slavik folklore.
The Tale of Bistun is a story-driven action-adventure game inspired by the 12th Century tragic poem “Khosrow and Shirin.” Your character wakes on Mount Bistun with no memory and has to fight mythical enemies while travelling between the real world and an ethereal place of forgotten memories.
Lastly, Nobody Saves the World will let you choose from 15 varied and distinct forms as you explore a vast overworld, and extensive dungeons which can be explored solo, or with a friend.
