The launch of Pokemon Legends: Arceus is fast-approaching and just nine days from now, many of you will get to experience the game for the first time. Judging by a few eBay listings that have popped up this week, a few of you have managed to find and play Legends: Arceus already. If that isn't you and you're patiently waiting to officially play the game like everyone else, Game Freak has offered up its best view of the Hisui region so far.

The new look at the old region comes in the form of a 360-degree video shared via Pokemon's Japanese Twitter account. The game's lead character hops onto a Wyrdeer, the Pokemon Stantler evolves into in the Hisui region. At that point the view shifts from third-person to first-person as you are placed on the Wyrdeer's back and able to look all around you at Legends: Arceus's sprawling landscape.

The two-plus minute-long clip also takes you up into the sky and across a body of water, all while looking through the eyes of the trainer in whichever direction you choose. For now, it's the closest you're able to get to a VR experience in the Pokemon world. Granted, there's no headset and you can do nothing but look around, but it's still a pretty cool glimpse at Hisui ahead of the game's full launch.

Despite being a little more than a week away, much of what we should expect from Legends: Arceus remains shrouded in mystery. The game isn't truly open world, but more like Monster Hunter which is divvied up into different open world areas. There will be a hub out of which you will operate, but outside of that, the game and its story, as well as many of the Pokemon waiting to be discovered, will be left to our imagination until we actually get to play.

Exciting times for Pokemon fans after a 2021 jam-packed with games, songs, and snacks celebrating the franchise turning 25. If successful, which it likely will be, Legends: Arceus could launch a whole new era in the Pokemon series. One where we play a series of games set in Pokemon's past, getting to know regions we've traversed for the past two and half decades, but long before we ever set foot in them for the first time.
