Gaming attracts more of the spotlight with each passing day, and streamers have played a large role in bringing the industry into the mainstream. Whether they’re skilled gamers or entertaining personalities, streamers wield their influence to shape the way the world’s most popular games are played and—for those at the top— rake in millions of dollars in the process.

1. Nick “Nick Eh 30” Amyoony

Canadian streamer, Nick Eh 30, rose to prominence streaming Fortnite on YouTube. Known for his quick edits, “200 IQ” plays, and wholesome streams, Nick Eh 30 quickly grew his community into what it is today. He now has close to 5 million subscribers on Youtube. In a time when many of gaming’s biggest names are leaving Twitch for other platforms, Nick Eh 30 decided to swim upstream. He left YouTube for Twitch in September and will continue bringing his positive energy and community-first spirit to his fans for the foreseeable future.

2. Dominique “SonicFox” McLean

SonicFox is one of the most indomitable forces in competitive gaming. They’ve made a name for themselves in the competitive scene by playing fighting games such as Mortal Combat X, Mortal Combat 11, and Tekken. SonicFox has five EVO championships under their belt and are known for sportsmanship, even donating $10,000 to an opponent’s father for cancer treatments.

3. Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf

Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf garnered household notoriety after his first-place finish in the Fortnite World Cup earlier this year. His incredible finish in the tournament earned him $3 million, the largest single prize awarded to any gamer in the history of the sport. At just 16 years old, the streamer has appeared on late-night talk show circuits and has over 1.5 million YouTube subscribers.

4. Soleil “Ewok” Wheeler

Fourteen year old, Ewok, is one of the most impressive stories in streaming. She joined Faze Clan’s Fortnite lineup as one of the youngest members and is the first girl on the team. Fortnite is a game that requires players to rely heavily on auditory cues. Ewok is deaf, which makes her skill and prominence in the Fortnite community that much more impressive.

5. Rumay “Hafu” Wang

With close to 800,000 followers on twitch, Hafu has one of the biggest followings on the platform. She began her career with World of Warcraft and made a name for herself in the competitive scene for Hearthstone and League of Legends. She now plays under G2 Esports ranks and is focusing more of her energy on building her streaming community.
