Olympic gold medalist Vitalina Batsarashkina, as spotted by Eurogamer, has been seen sporting a Wolf School witcher medallion at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

For context, she is a Russian sports shooter and she won the gold medal for the 10m air pistol event at the 2020 Olympics after getting silver in 2016. Hopefully, no illicit signs or potions were used to enhance her aim. However, she did wear her medallion in both cases.

If you don't know what a witcher medallion or a Wolf School whatchamacallit is, then to break it down, both are from the polish fantasy novel series The Witcher from Andrzej Sapkowski. It has been adapted into a trilogy of games with a few spin-offs by CD Projekt Red and now a TV series with its own slew of spin-offs by Netflix.

Meanwhile, the witchers are enhanced, mutated humans trained to take down monsters for local townsfolk and even, in some cases, royalty. The general population isn't too keen on them, but Batsarashkina seems to stand in solidarity. The wolf school, meanwhile, is the specific group of witchers that the protagonist Geralt of Rivia comes from.

Batsarashkina has been touting her love for The Witcher for years now, with a follow-up tweet from Radek sharing Batsarashkina's own from 2018 where she can be seen with a Witcher-themed shirt.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics are clad with gaming references: the opening even featured music from Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest, and Nier. So, it's no surprise that even the participants are avid fans themselves.
