There are a ton of different unlocks to be found in Dreamsite Games' Across the Obelisk. This underrated deckbuilding roguelike game was built from the ground up for replayability, after all. When it was in Early Access there was a lot of content, but the full-release version of the game has more the double the amount. One aspect of the game that you roguelike fanatics will love is figuring out how to unlock all the Pets.

There are over 15 different Pets in the game, with each one needing some convoluted questline to be completed in order to be unlocked. So, let's go into how you're supposed to obtain these "adorable" things in Across The Obelisk, one by one.

Asmody

Senenthia

Go to the River Bank "A Fun Game" Map Node in Senenthia and pick the [Play] option. Then, once behind the waterfall, you can either [Combat] or [Threaten], with the Ruined Book being a reward for either option.


Next, go to Velkarath for either Act 2 or Act 3, and go to the Empty Tent "The Empty Camp" Map Node. Here, pick the [Explore] option for another book.


Then, wait until Act 4 in The Void and go to The Library "The Ancient Library" Map Node. Once again, pick the [Explore] option here for the third book.


Finally, clear the first map of The Void, then go to the second map. Here, go to the Magic Circle "The Colored Runes" Map Node and pick the [Use] option, and Asmody should be summoned.

Betty

Senenthia

Look for "The Lost Sheep" event on the Main Road Map Node in Senenthia. Interact with this event, and [Combat] the crazed sheep.


Take Betty back to its home at the Betty's House "Betty Returns Safely" Map Node. If Nezglekt is in the party, pick his option. Otherwise, the [Bargain] or [Murder] options both work for unlocking Betty as a pet.

Bunny

None

Can be bought from any town shop by default.

Champy

Velkarath

Go to Velkarath for Act 2 specifically, as the quest will not be completable if Velkarath is used for Act 3. In Velkarath, go to the Goblin Caves "The Goblin Chieftain" Map Node and pick the [Combat] option to clear them all out. The party should receive a Small Log as a reward from this, so hold onto it until reaching Faeborg for Act 3.


Once in Faeborg, head along the bottom path to The Tyrant "Beavers Finally Rest" Map Node. Note that the party needs a boat to get here, which will cost 1,000 Gold to buy. At the Map Node, pick either the [Combat] or [Ambush] options, then beat the power-hungry bear.


After the fight, choose the [Throw] option that talks about throwing the Small Log to the Beaver with the small axe. Then, Champy should be unlocked!


Normally, getting all three of the Beavers here would require three separate playthroughs. But, if you Alt+F4 after picking a Beaver and getting to the Loot Screen, you should be able to re-select who to throw the Log to again, while still having your first choice unlocked — allowing you to get all three Beavers in one run.

Chompy

Velkarath

Use the same method as with Champy, but pick the [Throw] option that mentions throwing the Small Log to the one with the Harpoon.

Chumpy

Velkarath

Use the same method as with Chompy, but pick the [Throw] option that mentions throwing the Small Log to the one with the Stick.

Daley

Faeborg

At the start of the Faeborg map, go to the Forest "The Unlucky Trainer" Map Node and pick the [Throw] option, then get a five or higher in the Group Event.


If lower than five, Daley won't be obtained, but if five or higher, Daley joins the party!

Flamy

Senenthia

First, go to the Suspicious Hatch "The Hatch" Map Node in Senenthia. During this event, pick the [Enter] option to guarantee entry, or the [Open] option for a "chance" at entering.


If Cornelius is in the party, you can also pick his option to get in safely.


Once in the Sub-Dungeon map, continue forward until reaching the end of it, at the Summoning Circle "The Summoning Ritual" Map Node. Here, choose the [Persuade] option or Cornelius' option.


Then, go to Velkarath for either Act 2 or Act 3 and go to the Stone Table "The Banquet" Map Node. Here, choose the [Accept] option to release the imps and gain Flamy as a result.

Lianty

Aquarfall Marsh

Head to the southernmost part of the Aquarfall Marsh map, to the Spider's Lair "The Spiders' Cave" Map Node. Here, you must pick the [Jump] option to get in.


If you happen to have either Thuls or Zek with them, pick their options to get in safely.


Once inside the Sub-Dungeon, take the path that leads to the Dead Adventurer "A Narrow Gap" Map Node. Here, you must take a chance to get through the gap using the [Enter] option.


Alternatively, if you have Heiner, Bree, or Grukli in your party, you can choose these unique options to get through guaranteed.


After getting through, interact with the Dead Adventurer and pick the [Open] option to pop open the cocoon. Lianty should pop out of it and join the party.

Mozzy

Aquarfall Marsh

This one requires you to use Aquarfall as their Act 2 and Velkarath as their Act 3.


In Aquarfall Marsh, take the path heading up towards Malukah's Shop using a boat.


Remember, the boat costs 1,000 Gold, so make sure to save some in advance or bring Gustav who can get the boat for free.

Either way, use this boat to travel to the Marsh Deeps "The Mosquito Nest" Map Node.


There, you can pick the [Steal] option to take a chance at stealing Mozzy's Egg, or use Thuls' unique option (if he's in the party) to steal it guaranteed.


After that, go to Velkarath and travel to the Lava Cascade "How to Boil An Egg" Map Node. There, choose the [Continue] option to put the egg near the lava. The egg will then hatch and Mozzy will join the crew.

Oculy

Aquarfall Marsh

A relatively simple Pet to obtain, just make sure to have at least one party member with a Pet before reaching Act 2.


In Aquarfall Marsh, go to the Aqueduct "The Monster Trainer" Map Node (if the event is there). Once again, a boat is needed to get here, which costs about 800 Gold.


You can also go through the Eastern Village, siding with the Crocomen route, to get it for free.


At this Node pick any of the "Train My Pet!" options, and you should have Oculy join your party for free.

Orby

Velkarath

The first part of this quest starts in Velkarath, at the Crane "The Obsidian Shipment" Map Node. In this event, choose the [Ambush] option, which requires a Group Event draw.


If passed, you should complete the combat to get the Obsidian Ingots as a reward.


Hold on to this Obhe way until The Void in Act 4, then head to the Forge "The Sacred Forge" Map Node.


[Give] the blacksmith the Obsidian Ingots and craft Orby, who then becomes available.

Sharpy

Velkarath

This Pet unlock requires you to choose Velkarath as their Act 2 and Aquarfall Marsh as your Act 3.


In Velkarath, head to the Harpy Nest "The Harpy Matriarch" Map Node. In this event, choose the [Combat] option and defeat the Harpy Matriarch, with the Harpy Egg being added to the party's inventory once she's defeated.


Then, in Aquarfall Marsh, get a boat using either the 800 Gold or the Crocomen method and go to the Altar "Altar of Songs" Map Node.


Here, choose [Continue] to put the egg near the altar, where it hatches, and Sharpy will join your team.

Slimy

Aquarfall Marsh

In Aquarfall Marsh, head to the Western Village "The Lizardmen Tribe" Map Node.


Here, you will have a list of options of things to buy, with the Slime Bait being the most important. You can also buy the Hammer and Nails along with the Slime Bait, as this lets you build a boat to get to the Spider Lair without spending a lot of Gold — but it's entirely optional.


Go to the Spider Lair "The Spiders' Cave" Map Node and enter the Sub-Dungeon. Once inside, head to the Poisonous River "Slimes On The Bridge" Map Node (it'll have the Slime Bait icon next to it).


Interact with the event and choose to [Throw] the Slime Bait, and Slimy will become available to add to the party.

Stormy

Aquarfall Marsh

The unlock quest for Stormy starts at the Aquarfall Marsh location, the Eastern Village "An Empty Village" Map Node.


Here, make sure to choose to [Look] for anything interesting in the village to get Naga Notes.


From there, you can take either the far right or the middle path — one leads to an event where helping the Crocomen nets you a free boat, and the other is just standard combat.


After taking the boat from the South Pier, either for free or for 800 Gold, head to the Naga Mural "The Lightning Runes" Map Node. At this node, pick the [Read] option and decipher the mural to get Stormy as an unlocked Pet.
