Call of Duty: Modern Warfare may be a game, but Activision isn’t playing when it comes to exposing upcoming content. The publisher has taken action against a pair of content creators as information regarding maps and other features of the game's upcoming "Warzone" battle royale mode continue to hit the internet. Call of Duty's Warzone battle royale game mode is rumored to go live in March.

Creator The Gaming Revolution was one of the recipients of Activision’s wrath as he found his Twitter account suspended and his video removed due to a copyright strike. That hasn’t deterred the creator from making another account and continuing to post content detailing the upcoming game mode - something that Twitter will be just as unkind to as subverting suspensions is a violation of their ToS should Activision revisit the page.

Player Dean Carter inadvertently discovered the new map, but the wonder of his discovery led to a retaliatory ban from Activision. Though Carter would get his credentials reinstated, Activision walked back the ban by renewing his account under the condition that he would not post any videos or news of the new mode should he ever encounter the glitch again. Though Activision has not publicly denounced the leaks or made any kind of blanket warning to content creators, the message is loud and clear that they will not tolerate further leaks of Warzone.

From what is known based off of the leaks, Warzone is going to be a massive 200-player affair featuring a high-stakes respawn mechanic where players must fight 1v1 to escape the dreaded gulag. Previous leaks have shown the arena, including the gulag, and the scale is as massive as one can expect.

The lack of pushback or damage control from Activision more or less confirms everything from the leaks are true, giving players a better idea of what to expect when Warzone goes live next month. Until then, it is probably best that players keep the findings to themselves and show some semblance of patience lest Activision drop the ban hammer on them for further spoiling the surprise.
