Most of the stories coming out of this year's TwitchCon have not painted the event in a very flattering light. Perhaps the most shocking story to come out of it was Adriana Chechik's foam pit accident, resulting in the streamer breaking her back in two places, an injury that has effectively led to her needing to learn to walk again.Chechik has been posting updates from her hospital bed ever since she was taken there from TwitchCon to undergo emergency surgery. In a video she posted over the weekend, Chechik showed herself walking for the first time since the incident. Small, slow steps with the aid of a walker, and needing to be helped up off the bed beforehand by two people.RELATED: We All Owe Adriana Chechik A Lot More Respect“Today was so hard, I WALKED. I passed out after I brushed my teeth and had to be carried back but baby got her dancing shoes,” Chechik tweeted. Clearly still in high spirits despite the severity of her injury, one that has made an everyday task like brushing her teeth almost impossible. Chechik added that the few steps she took tired her out so much that she slept for the rest of the day.

On Sunday, the Twitch star revealed that she has been released from the hospital, and despite her doctors' fears, she has been able to pee by herself. Chechik previously revealed the fall at TwitchCon not only crushed bones in her spine but also caused nerve damage to her bladder. Thankfully, that nerve damage wasn't extensive enough to prevent her from peeing unassisted for the rest of her life.

Chechik sustained her serious injuries jumping from a platform into a foam pit at TwitchCon which was part of a booth run by Intel and Lenovo. Attendees have claimed the pit was no deeper than three cubes, with nothing more than a concrete floor beneath those cubes. The streamer wasn't the only person to suffer a serious injury via the pit either, as another attendee dislocated their knee.
