Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp has been delayed. Originally set to release in December, Nintendo has pushed back the game's planned release "for fine tuning."

"Hello, troops! Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, which was set to launch on 12/3, will now release for #NintendoSwitch in spring 2022," wrote Nintendo on Twitter. "The game just needs a little more time for fine tuning. You'll be battling with Andy & friends soon! Thanks for your patience."

Initially announced during June's Nintendo Direct, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is a full remake of the first two Advance Wars games for the GameBoy Advance. Besides combining these games into a single narrative, the remake would update both games' graphics with new animations, redrawn cutscenes, new weather effects, and more. There are also going to be new features like a fast-forward button so you can speed up gameplay and support for up to four-player multiplayer.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp could have been a big seller for Nintendo's holiday season. Now it's all resting on Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

Advance Wars is just one of many delays announced in recent days. CD Projekt Red recently announced the delay of the next-gen upgrade for both The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 to the first half of 2022. Disney also recently announced a whole slew of delays for upcoming Marvel films, including Thor 4, Black Panther, and Doctor Strange.

Normally, delays are a bad thing that nobody wants, but with all the recent delays we're heading into a very busy first half of 2022. February alone is going to be jam-packed with Horizon Forbidden West, Saints Row, Dying Light 2, Sifu, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Life is Strange Remastered, and now Elden Ring. It’s starting to look like February is the new December.
