Rejoice Wizards! One of Pokémon GO's best features is finally coming to Harry Potter: Wizards Unite! Adventure Sync is its name, and helping you get accurate step counts is its game. The function has been a part of Pokémon GO for quite some time, and has helped many trainers hatch more eggs. Wizards Unite hoped it would be part of their game's launch, but it was sadly not so. Thankfully, Niantic officially announced that the feature will be coming soon.

For those who don't know, Adventure Sync is a Niantic creation that connects its games to the Apple Health or Google Fit apps, depending on the operating system used. This allows Pokémon GO to more accurately track the distance a player walks, even when the app isn't turned on. Since hatching Pokémon eggs relies on walking a certain amount, Adventure Sync has been a godsend to players. Wizards Unite's Portkeys work just like Pokémon eggs, so Adventure Sync will be just as appreciated.

The announcement came directly from Niantic, developer of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and Pokémon GO. No release date is given, which led to some teasing comments from on the game's subreddit. Niantic has somewhat of a reputation for promising new functions for its games, only for them to be delayed or released in a semi-functional state. So while fans are happy that Adventure Sync is finally coming to Wizards Unite, they're not exactly hyping up its release. They're more than ready for the fact that it might not even come out this year.

When it does come, however, it will be helpful for more than just allowing you to open more portkeys. It will also track distance while the app is inactive, drastically saving battery life. Wizards Unite is a big battery killer, even more so than Pokémon GO, so it might even be more essential in this game.

It does feel like Niantic missed an opportunity, however. They could have chosen a new name for Adventure Sync. Something that fits better into the Harry Potter world. Maybe... Magic Sync? Magical Meter Of Steps? Okay maybe Adventure Sync is fine.
