It’s that time again. Awesome Games Done Quick returns in 2023 with another live-streamed speedrun-athon, raising money for the Prevent Cance Foundation, the only organization that’s dedicated to the prevention of cancer through early detection.

As with previous AGDQ events, Awesome Games Done Quick 2023 will be a week-long celebration of gaming, but unlike most previous events, this one will be entirely streamed online. We have the state of Florida to blame for AGDQ going online instead of COVID-19. Originally planned to take place in the sunshine state, AGDQ organizers canceled the in-person event in response to Florida’s "Don't Say Gay" laws, which organizers said made Florida an unsafe environment for many in the speedrunning community.

You can catch all the action on the Games Done Quick Twitch channel, with the full schedule of games available here. AGDQ 2023 kicks off with Splatoon 3 at noon ET, and then follows that up with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at 1:30 PM. You can expect a collection of newer games like PowerWash Simulator, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, Stray, and Cult of the Lamb, as well as plenty of classic titles like Final Fantasy VII, Sonic Colors, Super Mario Bros. 3, and many more.

Donations can be made using this link here, with each donation automatically entering you into a prize raffle to be held during the event. AGDQ's raffle prizes are phenomenal and can include such items as a replica Fallout AER9 Laser Rifle, a Splatoon-themed skateboard deck, a full custom gaming rig from Azure Gaming, Yakuza/Like a Dragon standees, video game scented candles, a cursed crochet Sonic plushie, and so much more.

And if donating to a great cause and the chance of winning awesome prizes wasn't enough, AGDQ has plenty of merch for sale where a portion of the proceeds goes to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Shirts, hoodies, pants, badges, mousepads, and even keycaps are all available at reasonable prices.

This year's AGDQ will be the first ever where founder Mike Uyama will be just a viewer and not the guy in charge, but so far it looks like AGDQ 2023 is in good hands.
