Age Of Empires 3 is considered a classic in the RTS genre and still holds up to some degree even today. The campaign of the game is a fun and interesting challenge, though some players may find the later acts a bit difficult depending on the difficulty setting they chose.

For those finding themselves struggling and just needing a little boost, there are a number of cheats that can make things a bit easier. There are also some cheat codes that introduce some quirky and fun changes to the game for a unique experience. Here are the cheats the player can use and the effects they have on the game.

21 Fat Animals

By entering the cheat code “a recent study indicated that 100% of herdables are obese” every animal on the map will instantly be fattened. This can be very beneficial for the player as more Food will be generated from these animals. Of course, the opponent will also receive the benefit.

20 Liberty Or Coin

The code “Give me liberty or give me coin” will instantly deposit 10 thousand Coins into the player’s possession. This can be very handy as some factions will struggle to accumulate this resource and others are very Coin hungry.

19 Medium Rare Please

Typing in the code “Medium Rare Please” will grant the player 10 thousand Food. This can be incredibly beneficial for meeting the Food requirements to advance an Age when lacking enough farms or for sending shipments to other nations.

18 <censored>

The cheeky code “<censored>” will immediately give the player 10 thousand wood. Having an abundance of wood is handy for the construction of multiple buildings. It’s also nice for factions that rely a lot upon ranged units. At the very least an abundance of wood lets the player construct a lot of defensive structures to defend their civilization.

17 Nova & Orion

Inserting the cheat code “Nova & Orion” will generate 10 thousand experience points for the player. Experience is important for increasing the level of the Home City and for shipping everything from units to technological upgrades. Having a glut of experience can really ramp up the effectiveness of the Home City.

16 X Marks The Spot

Putting in the code “X marks the spot” will reveal the entirety of the map for every player present. This is great for locating enemies, critical resources, geographical advantages, and other locations of strategic interest. It’s important to remember that this cheat will benefit every player and fog of war will still be in effect.

15 The Tommynator

Using the cheat code “tuck tuck tuck” will spawn The Tommynator unit. This monster truck is by far the most powerful unit in the game as it has an aura that causes 1,200 damage to anything nearby and has 60 thousand HP. It grants a ton of XP to anything that can kill it and it can destroy forests if the player isn’t careful.

14 Mediocre Bombard

The cheat code “ya gotta make do with what ya got” will spawn in the artillery unit Mediocre Bombard. This unit attacks by launching a Capybara at the enemy, dealing five thousand points of damage. It’s very fragile and is susceptible to cavalry attacks.

13 Sooo Good

Entering “sooo good” doesn’t summon or give the player anything. What it does is create comical text regarding whatever is going on. The example the game gives is that if an Imperial Redcoat kills a purple settler it generates the purple text “Imperial Redcoat’ed!”

12 Speed Always Wins

For players who want things to progress a little faster, the cheat code “speed always wins” is the one they want. When used it causes building, research, shipment, and gather rates to increase by 100 times. This applies to all players and doesn’t affect things like attack rates or unit movement speeds.

11 This is Too Hard

The code “this is too hard” will cause the player to instantly win the game. For obvious reasons, this is only usable in the singleplayer game. It can be a handy way of bypassing a difficult mission for something more fun.

10 Where’s That Axe?

The code “where’s that axe” will spawn the unit George Crushington. It’s a large bust of the former president George Washington who deals 800 damage and has a whopping 999,999 HP. He also has a siege mode that lets him attack at range and deal 500 damage.

9 O Canada 2005

When the player enters the code “o Canada 2005” they summon a Lazerbear to the fight. It’s a flying bear wearing a red tricorne hat that shoots lasers from its eyes. Its lasers are a far-reaching ranged attack that deals 800 damage and 500 siege damage.

8 Don’t Kick The Pitbull

Entering the code “don’t kick the pitbull” will summon a Learicorn, a man wearing a tuxedo riding a unicorn. It is capable of killing any unit, barring the other cheat units, in a single hit. It’s a heavy cavalry unit and only has 600 HP.

7 We Love Fluffy

The cheat code “we <3 fluffy” will summon Fluffy. Fluffy is a reference to Sam, the three-time champion of the world’s ugliest dog contest. Fluffy is considered a pet unit with a powerful attack and fast movement speed.

6 Flying Purple Tapir

With the cheat code “wuv woo vol.2” the player can spawn the Flying Purple Tapir, which looks exactly as the name suggests and leaves a rainbow trail in its wake. Interestingly, it can’t attack anything so it serves as a distraction or meat shield.

5 BigAndy

Using the code “wee ooh wee ooh” the play can summon BigAndy, a large monster truck that appears to be The Tommynator with a blue color scheme. In fact, its stats are identical to The Tommynator and it will also target both hostiles and trees. It’s an effective fighter that can tear down forests if left unchecked.

4 A Whole Lot Of Love

The code “a whole lot of love” introduced in the Asian Dynasties expansion will give the player 10 thousand of each resource. This is not given to the opponents, making it a very powerful cheat to use to further develop the player's civilization.

3 Ding Ding Ding

The code “ding ding ding” will summon a Monster Ice Cream Truck. It shares the same stats as BigAndy or The Tommynator with the notable exception of summoning villagers. The villagers are temporary, however, and will die after a time.

2 Mustard Relish & Burning Oil

With the code “mustard relish and burning oil” the player can spawn the Flaming Hot Dog Cart. It’s a man in a hot dog costume with a hot dog stand. It’s rather fragile at 300 HP and is a siege unit dealing 15 damage that’s effective against infantry, ships, and buildings.
