Remedy has provided yet another update for hungry Alan Wake fans, teasing that the sequel's story "is a monster." The studio also confirmed it is already working with a stellar cast of actors, presumably in motion capture sessions.

Alan Wake 2 creative director and lead writer Sam Lake shared a photo of himself alongside the studio's principal writer, Clay Murphy. The devs revealed they've written "a ton of pages, more than ever" for the sequel's story, which, in Lake's words "is a monster." From the sounds of it, we can probably expect Alan Wake 2 to be the biggest and most ambitious Remedy title to date. Lake previously said it will be a "new genre" for Remedy that pushes "further into the horror aspect" which seemingly fits in with this new "monster" hint.

Murphy, in turn, jokingly added that the writers used "the keytar method of writing", as you can see in the photo below. This approach let them finish their Herculean task blazingly fast. What's more, Alan Wake 2 has advanced much further than just a really enormous script, as the team has already begun shooting and voice acting sessions. For now, however, Lake is about to take a short summer break before returning to his work on Alan Wake 2.

"A lot of work remains, but the game is starting to take a more complete form in many areas," Remedy Entertainment CEO Tero Virtala revealed in May, saying the sequel is in the full production stage. The title is tentatively scheduled to release sometime in 2023, and Lake previously said that "a great deal of the game is playable" already, although the team won't be showing anything big in the coming months.

The studio also announced an Alan Wake TV series adaptation helmed by The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad channel AMC. The project has still "a long way to go," so we probably won't hear about it for quite some time.
