The Aliens: Fireteam Elite dev has detailed three of the game’s classes that will be available for players at launch. There will be plenty of different roles to choose from in the upcoming co-op shooter, each one with its own set of perks.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite will offer a total of five different character classes, which you can customize both in terms of appearance and combat abilities. This time, the team at Cold Iron Studios revealed weapons and skills for the Demolisher, the Doc, and the Recon classes, as written by PC Gamer.

The Demolisher is an option for those who like to destroy xenomorphs with heavy weapons. Besides your classic pulse rifle, the character also carries the heavy weapon L56A3 Smartgun, which will be very useful against big and armored foes. They're also capable of deploying a blastwave to knock enemies back, and fire groups of upgradable micro rockets.

Specialized Recon class, in contrast, is a much more sophisticated option. Using a sniper rifle can be tricky if the squad is overrun by enemies, however, this trooper can switch to shotgun, and call in support or attack drones that provide some notable advantages, like extra ammunition, accuracy boost, or even guard dog area coverage.

Lastly, the Doc, who heals wounded combatants and boosts their battle effectiveness with stimulators. While not the most heavily-armed guy in the room, the Doc can greatly influence the outcome of a battle. He can enhance accuracy and stability, as well as increase speed and stamina regeneration for other squadmates.

Two other classes have been previously revealed by Cold Iron Studios — the Gunner with a pulse rifle and powerful grenades, and the Technician, carrying sentry turrets. About 30 weapons with over 70 different attachments in total will be available for the players in the game.

You can play Aliens: Fireteam Elite with up to two friends or solo with a squad of AI-controlled teammates. However, if you plan to enjoy Aliens: Fireteam Elite with your pals on other platforms, you’re out of luck, as the studio has earlier announced the title will not support cross-platform play. Perhaps this will change after the game’s launch sometime down the road.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite, known before simply as Aliens: Fireteam, is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on August 24.
