Aloy's Genshin Impact debut is just on the horizon for PS4 and PS5 players, and Mihoyo is already preparing with a rundown on how she'll work. While there are bits you'll be familiar with, Aloy's free collaboration changes from how some characters typically work.

In Mihoyo's official blog detailing how you'll adventure as Horizon's lead, we get the usual rundown on stats, playstyles, and story. Aloy is a bow-wielding Cryo user—that much we already knew, and she'll have a nifty stacking buff that improves her damage. It's her Constellation, though, that is a bit of a headscratcher. Aloy's Stella Fortuna isn't available for buffing, and it's not entirely clear if she'll just exist this way from now on or if we'll eventually do something else with her. Mihoyo's description just notes, "The time has not yet come for Aloy's corner of the night sky to light up."

It's something Genshin's community may have partially expected, as Travelers have known for a while know that her in-game description shared something similar. Popular datamining database Honey Hunter World shared her stats earlier, and while it's not entirely unheard of for Mihoyo to make small tweaks to characters at launch, it sounds like that won't be the case here. For now, what you see is what you get with Aloy.

As for other Aloy details: she can still gain companionship EXP, Travelers can get her exclusive namecard, and she can live in your Serenitea Pot. If you're already playing on PS4 and PS5, you can grab Aloy first on September 1. As for PC and mobile folks, you'll need to wait until version 2.2 drops in October before you can add her to your party.

Genshin Impact is giving out a five-star freebie, but not everyone is entirely enchanted by it. The community has taken to social media to voice complaints around Mihoyo's anniversary event plans, and they're still quite unhappy with how the developer has handled Yoimiya's launch.
