Amazon's New World has its share of problems. They range from starter problems like not having enough server space, to intermediate ones like getting your account banned for no apparent reason, and more recently, complicated ones like images in the global chat that cause your game to crash.

It started off with lighthearted horsing around when players began sending large images of sausages and raw poultry in the global chat for a chuckle. But as with most things that involve video games and people, things took a turn for the worse. The large images of uncooked food eventually turned into images that aren't included in the game and were somehow too large for the chat bar, causing a "flashbang" all over the players' screens.

However, it got even worse from there if you can believe it. Some jerks found a way to add code to an item link message that made the game crash entirely.

Fortunately, the developers were quickly made aware of this issue and have already addressed it. "Earlier today, we discovered an issue where players were able to post images and other links in the chat that resulted in unsavory behaviour," said a post by a community manager on the New World forum. "We have enabled a fix that should resolve this issue and prevent players from abusing and exploiting this feature. This should already be enabled in each region."

Unfortunately those aren't the only issues plaguing New World, whose economy is also in utter shambles. This has resulted in a number of players resorting to gambling even though there is no such feature in the game. According to a Reddit post, players have been doing so via the game's dice-rolling emote. There's reportedly a specific area in town that players go to and simply announce their wagers in the open chat. The dice-rolling emote is randomised and the rolled number shows up on chat, so there's no way of cheating.

The entire operation runs on an honour system where players are expected to pay up if they lose, or else they'd be shunned by this upstanding community of adventurers.
