Fans of the Batman series of games have seen the franchise become one of the best sellers of all time. Now, Warner Bros. Entertainment is releasing a Batman: Arkham Collection in September to commemorate 80 years of Batman, according to an Amazon UK listing.

Though it started out as a simple comic book, it didn't take long for Batman to make its way onto countless gaming consoles, with Warner Bros. Entertainment and Rocksteady creating a trilogy of games that captured the imagination of fans everywhere. It began with Rocksteady's first title, Batman: Arkham Asylum in 2009 and was followed up by Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight.

Batman: Arkham Asylum would sell 4.3 million copies in total and Batman: Arkham City would best it by becoming one of the fastest selling games in history, selling two million copies in the first week alone, bringing its final tally to over 6 million. Given the immense success of the three games, it appears that through a UK Amazon listing, Warner Bros. Entertainment is prepared to reward fans with an early release of Batman: Arkham Collection which contains all three games.

While the series wasn't without its issues, it's clear that Warner Bros. Entertainment made a good choice when they selected Rocksteady to develop the trilogy. Given Rocksteady's lack of experience at the time, it was certainly a risk, but if the sales and reaction teach other companies anything, it's that you should trust in a developer because of their skills and forget about their experience.

According to Games Radar, there was an Amazon UK listing which showed the new Batman Arkham Collection releasing on September 6th for the Xbox One and PS4, though no other platforms were mentioned in the listing. While the listing was pulled, later on, Rocksteady marketing game manager Gaz Deaves went on to confirm that the listing was accurate and that European players will also get the E2DK skin in the collection. Though full details haven't been announced, it appears that all three games within the trilogy will be available to players in a remastered format. There's no word yet on if the game will be available to fans outside of Europe.

It's hard to believe that a leak like this wasn't intentional given the quick response by Rocksteady. It appears as though they had planned to release information on the topic before it was ever posted, but didn't get the chance to before information on the game quickly spread.

Given the success that remastered editions have had thanks to early leaks lately, it makes sense that a company like Rocksteady would do so to drum up more support for the collector's edition.
