Cosmicubes, sometimes referred to as "Cosmic Cubes," are a minigame in Among Us that allow players to unlock new cosmetic items for their character. Each has different cosmetics available, and some Cosmicubes are only obtainable for a limited time. Cosmicubes work a bit differently than the loot systems in other games, so they might take a little getting used to.
Like the rest of the cosmetic items in Among Us, they have no actual effect on gameplay. Having a fully-unlocked Cosmicube won't give you any better chance of winning — it just makes sure you'll look good while doing it.
Updated on July 19, 2023 by Matt Arnold: There are a lot of Cosmicubes in Among Us, and that means lots of great cosmetics! We've added a list of all the Cosmicubes that are currently available so that you can have an easier time of planning your unlock route.
How To Unlock Cosmicubes
Cosmicubes are available from the Shop, accessible from Among Us' title screen. They're under the Cosmicubes Tab, which looks like four boxes arranged in a square. Once you've purchased a Cosmicube, it's yours forever, even if that Cosmicube is removed from the store at a later time. This means that you can buy a limited-time Cosmicube while it's available and take your time unlocking it — once you've bought it, there's no rush.
The Mira Cosmicube is available for free to all players — you can unlock it immediately from the store and activate it right away. Most other Cosmicubes can be purchased with either Beans — which are earned through gameplay — or Stars, which are themselves purchased with real money. Occasionally, promotional Cosmicubes are available via a redeemable code, but this is only done for special events.
How Cosmicubes Work
Once you own one or more Cosmicubes, you can choose one to activate. Only one Cosmicube can be activated at a time, but you can freely deactivate your current Cosmicube and activate a new one. It's generally best to pick one Cosmicube and stick with it until you have the items you want from it, but there's nothing stopping you from switching to a new Cosmicube for a few matches to try it out.
When a Cosmicube is activated, you'll earn Pods for that Cosmicube each time you play a match. Pods cannot be interchanged between Cosmicubes - for example, Mira Pods can only be used with the Mira Cosmicube, and Polus Pods can only be used with the Polus Cosmicube. Any Pods you have stored for your current Cosmicube are saved if you switch to a different Cosmicube, so don't worry about spending them all before switching; they'll be there when you come back.
In the Cosmicube menu, you can use Pods to open tiles along several paths. You can only spend Pods on tiles connected to a tile that's already open, so your options will be limited when you first open up a given Cosmicube. Opening a tile that contains an item will add that item to your account permanently. That's all there is to it! By knowing which items you want and planning the quickest route through your Cosmicube's paths, you'll have your character fully decked out in no time at all!
All Currently-Available Cosmicubes
Here are all the cubes that you can earn Pods for right now. Remember; once you've bought a Cosmicube in the shop, you can always collect Pods for it and unlock cosmetics from it, even if the cube itself is no longer available to purchase!
