It's an online environment where people can play out their inner Machiavellians one minute and then become honest upstanding paragons the next. The funny part about most impostor victories is that some of them aren't even the impostor's full efforts. Sometimes, it's usually just the crewmates fighting between themselves over growing suspicions and false accusations.
They're even more liberal with voting out anyone who so much as takes a pause between walks towards their tasks. If the impostors are lucky, then the crewmates will take out 3 to 4 of their own members effortlessly. No wonder people always want to be the impostor, it's just plain fun watching situations like the above meme unfold.

Being a multiplayer game with several customizable aspects, Among Us has been the subject of many streamer shenanigans. This is quite prevalent among groups of friends who want to try out something new after tiring of the same vanilla formula or simply out of pure experimental curiosity.
The result is a chaotic prankfest similar to that above where people can get voted out of mere confusion. There were also games where the names got a little too creative, such as using nothing but pronouns. Regardless, easy win for the impostor.
7 Ahh, Safety In The Arms Of Others...
When not playing as the impostors, players will simply have to place whatever feelings of safety they can to their fellow crewmates and hope that they're not the impostor. That's why most people prefer to do their tasks in the presence of others.
This can clear them up and make them seem less suspicious -- unless of course, the number of impostors is set to two or more and they coordinate a tactical killing spree against half of all the crewmates in Medbay, such is life.
6 TBH, It Wasn't Him
It might be tempting to press the emergency button all the time just to check up on the teammates because after all, communication is only available in the meetings. Too bad some of the crewmates don't appreciate this sort of extroversion and would rather vote out anyone who likes to do emergency meetings because they miss their crewmates.
It's one sure way to get voted off early on in the game. By then, only a few things can save whoever pressed the emergency button for the heck of it, like pretending that they're a noob. In any case, players can likely imagine how much the impostor is laughing under such a circumstance.
5 Apparently, It Can Discourage Impostors
When one thinks about it too much because they have nothing better to do all day, the aesthetics of space culture in Among Us does not make much sense. Not only are the varied color space suits unnecessary, but the ornaments are just too wacky.
Take for example the toilet plunger. Why would any spaceman bring a toilet plunger in The Skeld when it's general knowledge that space toilets don't ever clog up? There's simply no other reason for that other than to possibly elicit a bit of mercy from the impostor. That's how those pets work.
4 "Wasn't Me, Your Honor. I Was Doing The Shoot Shoot Task."
When it comes to voting and emergency meetings in Among Us, most players-- even the newbies, will learn quickly how to defend themselves. Emotional outbursts just won't do it and will even make the accused look suspicious.
No, in order to sway the general public that one is innocent, big words are needed and players will have to lawyer themselves up if they want to survive. These big words can be anything from "electrical" to "medbay" or for the lazy ones, "o2." That ought to show everyone that you know what you're doing, take notes impostors.
3 Red Is Default Sus
Often, it's hard to believe whether the fellow crewmates are actually human beings behind the screen or if by some miracle, they're just bulls who have too much testosterone. Because the way they be hating the color red makes them a prime target for matadors.
It could be that red is just way too passionate a color so it automatically gets blamed right away and is hot from the get-go. Either way, this can make life difficult as someone who's stuck with the color red, might as well own the part and pick hats that resemble horns.
2 Impostors > Cheaters
One huge elephant in the room for the Among Us community is the existence of friends or people in a relationship to tell each other personally which players killed them. Turns out this isn't being sweet or endearing at all, it's just plain cheating and ruining the fun.
After all, being an impostor can be hard work and sometimes preparing for the role requires lots of voluntary sinning as per the old testament. Then along comes a gamer couple and takes out the social aspect of the game, barbaric.
1 Special. Place. In. Hell.
Now, what could be worse than couples and friends who call out the impostors? Quitters. These guys ruin the fun before the game even begins. Apparently, a worryingly large majority of the Among Us player-base only want to play as the impostor, so they quit immediately if they're not randomly chosen.
Not only will this make the crewmates' lives a living hell due to the easy impostor victory but it also gives a hollow win for the other side. So please, don't be like that, you'll get your chance eventually.
