Popular streamer Amouranth has just lost around 300,000 followers from her recently unbanned Twitch channel, bringing her total count from 1.5 million to 1.2 million followers.

Kaitlyn Siragusa, more commonly known by her Twitch username "Amouranth", is a popular streamer known for her risque cosplays, ASMR streams, and Twitch controversies. This past September, the 26-year-old female streamer was banned due to NSFW wardrobe malfunction that occurred during a stream. After a short (and hotly contested) three-day ban, the streamer's channel was reinstated with all content (sans the video that resulted in the suspension) back on her channel.

In addition to receiving her channel back, Amouranth was also gifted with a whopping and impressive total of 410,000 new followers in the seven days following her streaming return. This number broke records on Twitch, making her the fastest-growing streamer on the platform.

At the time, fans thought nothing of the feat, giving credit to Amouranth's popularity and her viral fame. Following the ban, her notoriety only increased. However, as of October 29, the streamer has now lost just around 300,000 followers.

Dexerto reports statistics from tracking site SocialBlade, which illustrates that the streamer lost a little over 2,000 followers on October 24. On October 29, five days later, it shows 290,000 lost followers.

This recent massive drop is certainly not natural and implies that some other force may have been behind these seemingly incredible numbers.

Some fans have theorized that the large influx of followers back in September came from bots. After all, viewership numbers for Amouranth's streams did not reap the same massive benefits that her follower number did. Perhaps those bots had been set to unfollow her channel after a set period of time, which could also explain why the drop occurred all at once. It's also unclear if this was a plan constructed by Amouranth herself or a third party's doing.

Regardless of the reasoning, Amouranth seems unfazed. The cosplayer is currently attending and streaming from BlizzCon, and has yet to comment on the sudden drop of followers. Despite the losses, it's clear that Amouranth has still gained subscribers in recent months. And with her continuing popularity, it's likely she'll hit that 1.5 million followers number again in the future.
