A somewhat new, unexpected craze has overtaken the Animal Crossing fan community by storm. As more and more adorable villagers are making the rounds of social media, players everywhere are desperate to have just the right kind of villagers living on their 5-star islands. And yes, that might involve black market sales.

As a result, Nook Miles Tickets have become one of the most valuable items in the entire game within matters of months. These tickets will take players to mystery island tours filled with potential riches as well as their favorite villager, so saving up for them is a necessity. Here's all the best stuff players can expect to find during these tours.

10 Trash

That's right: trash is actually a good thing. One man's trash is another man's treasure, and this is definitely the case in Animal Crossing. Nothing goes to waste in this game, not for players who are smart enough to turn this junk into something beautiful.

Some mystery islands will actually only contain trash, which can be fished from a pond. The trash can then be turned into all sorts of decor through DIY recipes, which might just help towards that 5-star island rating.

9 Bamboo

Another great resource which can only be found during these mystery island tours is bamboo, in all of its variations. It's recommended to not only harvest all of the bamboo trees for the different types of bamboo pieces, but also dig around for bamboo shoot.

The shoots can be brought back to the home island and be planted for more bamboo for the player's DIY and decoration needs. It's especially useful for anyone wanting to create a zen-like bamboo garden environment.

8 Exotic Fruits

One of the Nook Miles achievements is planting one of every type of fruit on the island, which is why having other fruits and not just the native kind is important. There's a chance the player can end up on a mystery island where another type of fruit is available.

Players can expect to find coconuts on just about all mystery islands, which can be sold for a good price back home or be planted on the beach for palm trees. There's great money to be made from exotic fruits, so make sure to snatch as many as possible.

7 Fossils

Occasionally, although it's very rare, a mystery island will have a small marking on the ground indicating that a fossil can be dug up. Usually an island will have just one fossil, but this is better than nothing.

Keep in mind, however, that the bamboo island will appear to have a number of fossils in the ground. These are actually bamboo shoots, so unless the player needs them, there's no point digging them all up. Fossils are of course great for donating to Blathers, but already discovered ones can fetch a good price at Nook's Cranny.

6 Rare Fish

Some islands hold secrets that can't be discovered at first sight. The player will need to come along prepared with a few fishing rods, but the reward will be well worth the effort put into catching some of the rarest fish available.

Some islands will provide exclusively a rare type of fish. There's the Finned Fish island, which grants the player the chance to fish for sharks and suckerfish. The Big Fish island will have a chance of spawning some of the largest fish available in the game.

5 Rare Bugs

Not only are rare and cool fish and option at an island, but there's also rare bugs to be caught. However, it's important to access these islands during the right time of the day, or they won't actually be around for the player to catch.

Lucky players can either end up on the famous scorpion island, which will spawn a bunch of scorpions at night time, or the tarantula island, which will spawn a myriad of these large spiders. Both are great islands for the daring to make tons of money.

4 Money Rocks

A more common but very useful island is the money rock island, which has an island in the middle of a pond with five rocks. Although usually rocks will provide iron, clay, stone and maybe a gold nugget, these rocks will only drop bells.

This is a fantastic way to make money, and since it's possible to get this island fairly commonly, it's worth traveling around for it for a bit of extra pocket money.

3 Gold Nuggets

Speaking of rocks and ores, players who have been using their tools for some time now might be close to discovering the rare gold tool DIY recipes. Once they're unlocked, the player can make super durable gold tools which require gold nuggets.

Luckily, one rare mystery island in particular is great for finding gold nuggets. The island has a single rock at the center, which when hit with a shovel will spit out only gold nuggets.

2 Furniture

No matter what island the player gets, every island will always have one constant feature: a piece of furniture. Those wanting to expand their store catalogue while traveling around looking for their favorite villager should take the time to pick up the piece of furniture at the very least.

By shaking a tree that isn't a fruit tree, the player will be able to find one random piece of furniture on each mystery island.

1 Rare Villagers

Of course, the main reason most players go to mystery island tours is to find their favorite villager. Some are rarer than others, and while it's possible to see the same villager multiple times, there's also a chance they'll run into the villager of their dreams.

Keep in mind that villagers will only spawn on these islands when there's space on the player's island to move into. Otherwise, the islands will be completely empty without inhabitants. The villager should be spoken to twice, in order to be invited to live on the player's home island.
