After Build-A-Bear showed interest in a potential Animal Crossing collaboration on Twitter, one fan has decided to create a petition in support of the idea.

Mark Gonzalez's Change.org petition highlights some of the reasons why such a collaboration would be good for the company, stating that "Build-A-Bear would receive more customers from the Animal Crossing community". It looks like many other fans of the series agree as well, with the petition receiving more than 6,000 signatures since it was started late last year.

While it may not seem like a lot of signatures for how long the petition has been online, it's worth noting that the tweet by Build-A-Bear happened only this month. And, when looking through the "Reasons for signing" section, it's clear that a majority of signatures were created after said tweet.

If this collaboration comes to fruition, it will be the second time Nintendo partners up with Build-A-Bear. Numerous Pokémon plush toys have been created over the years by Build-A-Bear, including the original three starters.

This is not the first time fans have petitioned for Animal Crossing themed products as well. A proposed idea for an Animal Crossing: New Horizons Lego set based on Nook's Cranny quickly gained traction this month, reaching 10,000 supporters in just a few weeks. This means that it will be reviewed by a team at Lego, potentially becoming a real product in the near future.
