With April comes the very first event that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has ever seen. The event revolves around the holidays of Easter and has a bunny mascot make his way into your town.

Throughout the event, you will be able to gather items and find exclusive DIY recipes if you want to collect them all though there are a few things you need to know. For starters, starting the event can be a bit confusing as players don't know what to do with their eggs. To help smooth things over, we have investigated the event. Keep reading below to learn everything you need to know about Bunny Day.

10 Zipper T. Bunny Wanders

By logging in, you will be told by Isabelle that Bunny Day is coming up. Your town will then be updated to have event items all over the map. If you want to get all the details and a free DIY, though, then you need to find Zipper T. Bunny. Unlike some past event NPCs, he doesn't just stand in your town square though, he wanders around the map and can pop up in some unexpected places.

If you haven't found Zipper then check around your town, he may just be hiding behind a house.

9 Bunny Day is the Twelfth

Bunny Day isn't actually until the twelfth, and until then, you're kind of just stuck gathering eggs. This gives you plenty of time to gather eggs, though, as more will spawn into your island as time passes by. It's important to regularly check-in with your island throughout this event to ensure that you will have enough eggs to complete the event. Eggs seem to spawn once a day on things like trees.

If your check-in almost every day, though, you are almost guaranteed to gather enough eggs to complete the event.

8 There are DIYs Hidden

If you talk to Zipper, he will tell you that he has hidden an extra surprise for you around the island. Unlike eggs, though, DIYs for the event only seem to be found in one place. To get them, you will need to get a slingshot and bide your time outdoors. Every so often, a balloon will drift by like normal. But if the balloon looks like an Easter egg then you need to shoot it down.

The chances are likely that you will get a present with a special DIY inside.

7 There are Six Types of Eggs

Zipper T. Bunny wasn't satisfied with just hiding one type of egg, so he decided to make six different ones. All six can be found in different places around your island. Earth eggs are found in the ground, stone eggs in rocks, sky eggs in balloons, wood eggs from chopping trees, water eggs from fishing, and leaf eggs from shaking trees where the eggs can be clearly seen.

All of these eggs will need to be gathered en masse to complete the event, if you see them, grab them.

6 Bunny Day Stationary

The Bunny Day event isn't just limited to you collecting eggs, though; there is even a postcard update at the airport. The new postcard is simple and has decorated eggs on it. The postcard is available for the duration of the event, so if you plan to collect all the stationery, be sure to send one to your self. Like other stationery, it all costs two-hundred bells to send.

There are no special rewards for using the Bunny Day stationery or collecting all the types.

5 Friends Can Steal Eggs

Be careful about opening your island to strangers as friends can hunt for Easter Eggs just like you can. As it turns out, players can easily shake your trees and steal your eggs. These eggs won't respawn if a friend takes them home, and any eggs that you have previously found and left laying on the ground are fair game. This can cause issues for unknowing players who open up their island to strangers.

Make sure to collect all of your eggs before opening your gate to keep the event fair.

4 You Can Trade Eggs

The good news is that other players being able to steal your eggs can actually help you. If you and your friends have eggs, then you can simply drop them on the ground for a trade. This is great news for those who have a special design in mind for their island using Bunny Day DIYs. Some players have even made it known that they are willing to give up their eggs for a price.

Keep in mind that your eggs are limited, and once this event ends, you won't be able to get them anymore.

3 Prize For Making All DIYs

You need to collect all the DIYs and make them by the end of the event. On the twelfth, Zipper will show back up to your island. If you have found and made all the exclusive items, then he is set to give you a prize. We don't know what the prize will be or if these items are going to be the same each year, so this may be your only chance to get a rare piece of furniture.

Going on the fact that you can already make an outfit and bedroom set from the DIYs, we can only guess it's something truly special.

2 Exclusive Bunny Day Bed

The very first DIY you will get must be from Zipper T. Bunny himself. When you first locate him on the island, not only will he explain the rules to you, but he will give you the Bunny Day bed recipe. This recipe will give you an idea of how many eggs you will need for the upcoming projects. We don't know if Zipper will still give this recipe out on the twelfth, so it's best to talk to him now.

After you talk to him the first day, he will disappear, so be sure to log back in on Bunny Day.

1 Eggs From Nook Mile Islands

The most surprising way to get eggs is by spending your Nook Miles to go to an island. As it turns out, every island has a chance of generating with eggs on it. This can be a great way to get those last few eggs without worrying about dealing with other players. The number of eggs you get will be significantly smaller than you get from checking into your island once a day, but still worth gathering.

Right now, sky eggs don't seem to be part of the Nook Miles Islands.
