Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been praised for its variety of customization options. Players have been able to customize their characters in never-before-seen ways in the franchise, from recreating facial birth-marks to the option of changing your skin tone without having to stand out in the sun for hours on end.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons lets players run free with their imagination with the introduction of the Custom Designs Portal. This feature can be found in the Able Sisters and allows players to download and upload custom designs for other fans to use. Something that many players are doing is repping their favorite video games by making outfits and merchandise. Here are some of the best out there made by talented players.

10 Mario From… Mario

This plucky plumber outfit is the perfect Summer look for your island. Creator Jackson from Smashville has designed a super cute remake of the Big Bro’s Tee from previous games so players can proudly declare their love for Mario when other players visit their island.

For bonus points, see if you can get Alfonso to wear it by putting it as a design on the back wall of the Able Sisters. In all Animal Crossing games bar New Horizons, Alfonso sports the Big Bro’s Tee, a red shirt with Mario’s iconic "M" emblem on the front.

9 Inklings From Splatoon

If you are a fan of Nintendo’s third-person shooter Splatoon 2, these designs are for you. Thanks to Ashley from Chiheisen, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can now sport the stylish Splatoon 2 Pink and Blue Hood designs that are sure to cause a splash!

This isn’t the first time Animal Crossing and Splatoon have crossed paths. Pocket Camp players may remember the crossover event taking place in September 2018. The Blitz Clam Scavenger Hunt allowed players to obtain Splatoon 2 inspired gear and make their camp drip with freshness.

8 The Companion Cube From Portal

With this design by the aptly-named Gracie from Lilac Cove, players can finally immortalize their best friend from Portal, the infamous Companion Cube. With the lack of Portal Guns in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, this design might be the next best thing. The amount of detail that has gone into this design, from individual stitches to the little pocket on the back, it’s almost as cute as the original.

This cozy-looking sweater is sure to keep players toasty-warm in those long Winter months as they sit the Bonfire. Just… don’t incinerate this one. You monster.

7 D.va From Overwatch

Whether you’re a D.va cosplayer or a D.va main in Overwatch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons designer Crysss from BlingBlong has got you covered. This rendition of D.va’s academy skin and her iconic face paint is sure to impress when your friends come over to play on your island.

The fact that Crysss has separated the two designs means that players can mix and match their Overwatch designs to their heart’s content. So, whether you’re a D.va main or a Tracer main, there is sure to be something for everyone from all the talented Overwatch designers on the internet.

6 Leafeon And Glaceon From Pokemon

The Eeveelutions Leafeon and Glaceon might not be traditional Pokemon characters, but this design is so unique it has to get a mention. What stands out about this design by Lavender of Chili’s is the adorable reversible print.

When players are running forward, they’ll be sporting a very cute, minimalist print of Glaceon. But, as soon as they turn their back, the player can see an equally cute Leafeon print, complete with its iconic leafy curls. The amount of time and effort that went into this design is obvious, which makes it worthy of a spot on this list.

5 Pokemon Trainer Ash

If you’re a big Pokemon fan, Ash’s iconic outfit is something you’ll want to download and show off for the world to see. Creator Jason from the aptly named Alola has not only gone and made Ash’s jacket, but has also his cap!

This means you can proudly sport matching outfits to show off that you are the very best like no-one ever was. Except, of course, all those people who have already downloaded this design. Which is quite a few people, but you’ll at least be as cool as them!

4 Zelda In Breath Of The Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild saw Link and Zelda take a step back from their green tunics and purple dresses. In this game, both characters sport the blue Champions Tunic.

This was given to them to wear as part of a uniform for the Champions of Hyrule. Creator Mori has designed both a Champions Dress and a Champions Tunic for fans of Zelda’s new style. What’s most impressive is the level of detail that’s gone into them both. The dress looks like it has layers, whilst the tunic has Zelda’s leather pouch for carrying equipment.

3 Ellie From The Last of Us

If you’re excited for The Last of Us 2, or just a huge fan of the first The Last of Us game, you can’t miss out on this super-cute design by Allie from Purradise. This is a faithful remake of the shirt Ellie can be seen wearing in The Last of Us.

The nice thing about this design is that it’s not an obvious gaming design, but those in the know will know. The tropical vibe of this design would work well as just a Summer-y shirt now that June has started.

2 Sean Diaz from Life Is Strange

If players want to wear Sean Diaz’s Wolf Squad hoodie from Life is Strange 2 in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, then this design is for you. For Sean and Daniel, this hoodie represents the loss of their father, the danger they face from the police force, the discrimination they face for being people of color, and the beginning of a tough life on the road. It’s been with the two brothers since the start of their tragic cross-country trek, a constant reminder of how alone they are in a hostile society that wants them dead.

1 Commander Shepard From Mass Effect

This black jacket can be worn by Commander Shepard as a casual outfit in Mass Effect 3, and now by your character in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The bold N7 emblem is worn by Shepard throughout the series and is an instantly recognizable symbol to anyone who has played Mass Effect.

You can turn your island into a sprawling cosmos and explore the galaxy in this very fetching hoodie, as long as you promise not to commit genocide of an entire species, no matter how ugly your villagers might be.
