Everyone's favorite shih tzu is always hard at work, hustling in every Animal Crossing game she's been in. The very definition of work hard and smart as Isabelle rose from nothing since her life in a cardboard box. Growing up with her twin brother, Digby, he says she holds engineering degrees from nineteen different universities.

And even though she never quite grew up to become an engineer despite her extensive studies, she still built quite the impressive resume with everything she's done. Here's all the jobs Isabelle held throughout all her time in Animal Crossing.

7 Secretary (New Leaf)

Anyone new to Animal Crossing might panic at the sheer idea of managing an entire town they've never lived in much less seen. But worry not because Isabelle, the trusty secretary, will be there to hold the hand and guide even the most incompetent of mayors. After all, secretaries in Animal Crossing are of an entirely different breed (and not just because she's a dog) considering she does more than get coffee and photocopy documents. She's the driving force ensuring players properly enact Ordinances and commission Public Works Projects.

6 The Mayor... Technically (New Leaf)

Although never actually elected as mayor (then again, neither was the player), nor did she ever formally hold the title, Isabelle does occasionally become acting mayor. Most players just don't realize it because they're not present to notice. Think about it. When players manage to come off their Animal Crossing addiction and set down their Switch, someone's got to take care of the town.

So with the player gone, Isabelle, the ever-reliable right-hand pup, temporarily becomes the acting mayor. This just goes to show that Isabelle is a force to be reckoned with who can handle herself coolly no matter the pressure.

5 Head Of Development (Happy Home Designer)

The beautiful buildings and homes in Animal Crossing don't just build themselves. It requires thought and careful planning to make a well-structured town. That's where Isabelle comes in as the town hall's head of development.

When players first play the game as an employee at Nook's Homes with their renowned building skills, Isabelle assigns them Public Facility Projects. As the brains of the operation (probably due to her many engineering degrees), she even provides players a list of resources for the building saving everyone the guesswork.

4 Campsite Guide (Pocket Camp)

If you've gotten used to building Animal Crossing's nice little suburban town, being thrown into a different environment can be intimidating. But don't fret because Isabelle is there as your campsite guide to ease the process. Basically showing you the know-hows during the tutorial, her kind and generous soul doesn't just leave you to fend for yourself.  If you make time to meet up and talk with her, every now and then, Isabelle will give you tips and tricks to help you make the best camp possible.

3 Tom Nook's Assistant At Nook Inc. (New Horizons)

Anyone can tell that Isabelle (and Tom Nook, to be honest) really adopted the Animal Crossing: New Horizons' tropical island feel as they ditched the dress shirts and sweater vests for the breezy Hawaiian shirts. Once the player's assistant, Isabelle moved on to the dark side and became Tom Nook's assistant in Nook Inc.

That said, she's still present to help players with smaller, more aesthetic tasks like changing the island tune or flag, resetting other visitor's clothes and speech (somehow), and telling them how well they're doing in her island evaluation.

2 News Broadcaster (New Horizons)

Although this is part of her job at Nook Inc., being a news broadcaster isn't usually in the job description for a personal assistant, which is why this deserves its own spotlight. Formally, her job was technically to lighten Tom Nook's workload by taking on some of the work herself. In this case, that just happens to mean waking up at before the sunrise to do the 5am daily broadcast. So now instead of Nook, you'll find a bright and chipper Isabelle giving announcements, news events, villager gossip, and more with a drink on the side. (Because Isabelle is an overachiever that takes day drinking to a whole new level).

1 Social Media Manager

As the true representative of Animal Crossing, Isabelle even transcends the game into the real world as Animal Crossing's Twitter account holder (and star with over 1M followers). Tweeting game updates, announcements, event reminders, and more, she's essentially doubling down on her news broadcasting and taking it to the real world. Not quite as sassy as Wendy's with their Twitter clapbacks, she instead sticks to her sweet and friendly tone while being the helpful dog villager that everyone knows and loves.
