It is no secret that the success of Animal Crossing: New Horizon has far exceeded expectations. Because of this, sales of the Switch and associated items like Amiibos have skyrocketed.

Amiibo cards, in particular, have become a hot selling market since it is now harder to get some of the earlier cards. These cards let players summon villagers to their campsite, and then can be moved in. The popular villagers for which cards exist experienced a hike in price. If you are looking for Amiibo cards, then keep reading below to see which villagers have dramatically increased in price.

10 Pietro ($40)

Pietro is a clown sheep that loves to listen to K.K. Parade. He is one of the more smug villagers despite his look and he debuted in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Pietro has a house that resembles a carnival in the previous game and has a love for balloon themed furniture in Pocket Camp. He even has "Honk, honk," as his catchphrase to match his appearance.

In New Horizons, Pietro tones down the carnival theme and only has a few prize wheels in his room.

9 Roald ($40)

Roald is the only jock villager on this list and based on Adelie penguin. Roald first debuted in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, like Pietro and others on this list, and had a kiddie and space-themed room. His catchphrase is even a huge nod to the fact he lives in the arctic as he studders the word, "Buddy." He also makes references to the fact that he waddles.

In New Horizon, Roald has moved into an artic-themed house.

8 Apollo ($40)

Apollo is a villager who has been around since the second game in the series, Animal Crossing: Wild World. He is a cranky villager who does not like you to point out the fact that his head is bald. In previous titles, he had a love for the modern furniture set and usually also had a few fossils on display.

In New Horizon, Apollo has a modern black and white room with a pool table.

7 Coco ($42)

Coco has long been thought to be one of the creepiest looking villages out there. Coco was made to resemble an empty coconut and, in spite of this, is one of the normal villagers. Like Apollo, Coco debuted in the second game. In the second game, she kept gyroids in her room, which added to her creep atmosphere.

In New Horizons, though, Coco has a house that is more akin to a barn or outdoor area.

6 Julian ($43)

Julian is a unicorn and considered to be a rare villager and is also one of the smug villagers. Julian is a newer villager having debuted in New Leaf where he considered himself to be an oddball because of the horn on his head. From this, we can gather that unicorns are rare even in a word where ghosts lose their bodies and a Tanuki runs a business.

In New Horizons, Julian has a sky-themed room with zodiac furniture scattered about.

5 Zucker ( $48)

Zucker has been a coveted villager since his debut in New Leaf. Zucker is a food villager and is made to resemble Japanese takoyaki snacks or octopus balls. Zucker is also a lazy villager and made his home into a conveyor belt restaurant in the previous title.

In New Horizons, Zucker has moved on from the restaurant vibe and turned his house into an outdoor food stall.

4 Fang ($50)

Fang is a villager that first appeared in Animal Crossing: City Folk and one of the few villagers who was also an e-card. Fang is a cranky villager who has an Asian-inspired house in previous games. Because of Fang's coloring, he claims that he is hard to see in the snow unless he wears a color other than white.

In New Horizons, Fang switches up his style for a more modern look.

3 Ankha ($60)

Ankha is an Egyptian themed villager who first appeared in City Folk. Since her debut, her house has moved more towards an Egyptian theme. She is a snooty villager and also had an e-card based on her. Her clothes also went through changes over the years as she originally had a red aloha shirt.

In New Horizons, her room is revamped to have a pyramid in the middle.

2 Lucky ($75)

Lucky is a dog that has been wrapped in bandages to look like a mummy. He fits in well with villagers like Boris and Ankha, who have Egyptian-themed houses. Lucky debuted in the first Animal Crossing game, also known as Animal Forest, and is another lazy villager. His house is often styled with mini-pyramids and sand flooring.

In New Horizons, though, Lucky changes things up as his house is a graveyard.

1 Marshal ($90)

Marshal is currently the most expensive Amiibo card you can buy. Marshal debuted in New Leaf and is a smug villager. In the previous game, he had a desert- and sloppy-themed home. His design is made to look similar to the of a marshmallow, and this is referenced in his name.

In New Horizon, Marshal has a much nicer-looking house with coffee equipment in the kitchen.
