Recently discovered villager dialogue in Animal Crossing: New Horizons hints at the possibility of Brewster and The Roost Café coming to the island.

New Horizons fans on Twitter have posted some pretty interesting videos and screenshots regarding a potential future update that sees the return of everyone's favorite coffee shop and barista in 2020.

Twitter user @sliceofcy posted a video of her villager talking to fellow island resident Clay, who appears overly cheerful and energetic (despite it being 4 AM). He says, "I'm still awake! I guess Brewster was right! 17 cups of coffee is 3 too many!" before ending his chat.

But that's not the only evidence. Another Twitter user, @Kasilyn_S, posted a screenshot of a conversation with her villager and Maddie (named "Olympe" in the French version of the game). She goes on to pose a hypothetical, saying, "Imagine you go to The Roost and there's no one. Now you only have to get a drink with Brewster."

It would be odd for the villagers to name drop such recognizable locations in the Animal Crossing fandom without any plans to bring them to New Horizons in the future. While Nintendo has not confirmed a future update with Brewster and The Roost, these villager interactions heavily imply their inclusion at some point.

For those who might not remember, The Roost is a café in the Animal Crossing series. First introduced in Wild World in 2005, the café is run by Brewster, a quiet and reserved owl. In past games, Brewster would change up his coffee blends every day, and charge guests 200 bells for a cup. Brewster was very particular about his coffee, preferring his patrons to drink their coffees immediately after receiving them, rather than letting them cool down.

The Roost was also home to K.K. Slider's weekly concert series, where players could request a song from the famous musician and listen to it in person. K.K. Slider has already made an appearance in New Horizons, though he performs his concerts in the town plaza in this game.

While there's still no confirmation on whether or not The Roost will be coming to island life, all we can do is hope and pray for an official response from Nintendo.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
