If you've played previous titles in the Animal Crossing franchise before, there are probably a number of characters you remember, but might not be able to find in the New Horizons family. One such character is Celeste, the sister of everyone's favorite museum curator Blathers. She's a kind and inquisitive female owl and is known for her contributions to the town's Observatory in previous Animal Crossing titles. While the verdict's still out on whether or not island life will warrant the creation of an Observatory, Celeste is still a part of the New Horizons cast of characters. Here's a guide on how to find her.

Unfortunately, Celeste's appearances are pretty random, and there aren't a ton of concrete actions players can take to find her. However, she usually doesn't show up until players have progressed a fair bit into the game, so you'll want to make sure you're keeping up with all your island responsibilities and have unlocked a fair number of other named characters first.

Celeste will appear randomly on an island sometime after sunset, and players can find her wandering around the island in the same fashion that characters like Harvey and Daisy Mae do when they visit.

Once you spot her, run up and speak to her, and she'll tell you a little about herself. She'll explain how she's related to Blathers, as well as give you some important information about a meteor shower that's slated to happen later that night. But it doesn't stop there– Celeste will also explain the importance of meteor showers, detailing how wishing on a falling star can bring you good fortune. Plus, she'll give you a DIY recipe for the "magic wand," which helps players easily store and switch between outfits.

That recipe will require a few star fragments in order to craft, which you can find the day after the meteor shower. They look like large bright yellow rocks and will be scattered around the beachfront of your island. The number of star fragments that appear will depend on the number of wishes you make during the meteor shower.
