Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a very successful anime that premiered in 2011. Its positive reception spawned a mobile game, a movie, and most recently, a spinoff called Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Side Story. Despite being a magical girl series, this show is known for its dark elements and grim outlook on what it really means to be a mahou shoujo, or magical girl. Since this show is a cult favorite, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players were bound to make designs based off the costumes of the girls. Sayaka is the very loyal best friend of Madoka. Determined to protect her friends at all costs, she swings a sword while carrying a deep sense of justice.
