In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there are a variety of special characters that can visit the island periodically. Some of them are scheduled to only visit on certain days or certain times of the day, while others are completely random and may show up on any day throughout the week.

Each of these special villagers has their own role on the island. While the villagers that live on the island may wander around, ask the player to play games, and might even try to sell items to the player, these villagers are all only there for a single thing. These villagers are a ton of fun and can be super helpful when it comes to making bells, getting special DIY recipes, and getting unique items. Here are all of the special visitors players can meet in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and what how best to hang out with them.

12 Hang Out With Celeste At Night For A Recipe

Celeste is a special visitor that can visit any night on a player's island. This owl is the sister of Blathers, the owl that runs the museum, and she loves the night sky.

On nights that Isabelle specifies there's a meteor shower, Celeste will always be there, but she may appear on other nights that have no shooting stars. Celeste will give the player a special DIY recipe that requires star fragments to make.

11 Buy 3 Rugs From Saharah For A Bonus Item

Saharah is a special visitor that can appear on the player's island on any random day of the week. This camel comes from a far away land and sells things to decorate the player's home with.

Saharah sells three sizes of rugs, random wallpapers, and random flooring. Each time the player buys a rug, they receive a coupon from Saharah and the player can turn in five coupons for a free random wallpaper or flooring!

10 Buy Clothes From Kicks

Kicks is a skunk that appears on the island during a random day of the week. Unlike some other special characters that wander around the island, Kicks sits with his spot set up right in front of Resident Services.

This skunk sells the player shoes, socks, purses, and backpacks that they can wear with the outfits they buy from the Able sisters.

9 Help Gulliver Out For A Special Item

Gulliver is a special character that can be found laying on the beach on the island at random during the week. It'll take a few tries, but just keep trying to talk to Gulliver and eventually he'll wake up.

Gulliver will explain that he's shipwrecked and needs the Communicator Parts for his phone back so he can call for help. They're buried on the beach and look like Manila clam spots, so get digging until you find all five. Return them to Gulliver and a few days later, he'll send a special item that can't be purchased anywhere else.

8 Buy Daisy Mae's Turnips For Cheap

Daisy Mae is a special villager that comes on a schedule. This character will only appear on Sunday mornings before noon and will be wandering around the island somewhere. Find her and she'll sell turnips, usually for around 100 bells per stack of 10 turnips.

These turnips can then be re-sold to Timmy and Tommy at Nook's Cranny to make a massive profit - just make sure not to time travel or hold those turnips past the following Sunday!

7 Request A Song From K.K. Slider

K.K. Slider is a dog that appears in front of Resident Services every Saturday after a player's island reaches the 3-star rating. After the sun goes down, players can go up to K.K. Slider and either request a favorite song of his or tell him the kind of mood they're in

In response, the dog will then perform a song for all the villagers that were sitting at the chairs. After the song is over, K.K. Slider will slip a copy of the song into the player's pocket.

6 Find Out Which Of Redd's Wares Is The Real Deal

Redd is a quirky fox that can appear at random on a player's island. The first time he appears, he'll be wandering around and will introduce himself. After that, he'll be on the small strip of beach at the very back of the player's island.

Redd sets up a boat that has several pieces of art inside. One piece of art is authentic while the others are forgeries. The player has to figure out which one is the real one so they can purchase it and donate it to the museum after Redd mails it to them the following day.

5 Take Up C.J. On His Fishing Challenge

C.J. is an otter that has double duty. This character can visit a player's island at random and will challenge the player to catch three of a certain size of fish in a row. After the player finishes this challenge, C.J. will buy all fish from the player for a premium.

In January, April, July, and October, C.J. also hosts the Fishing Tourney in which players compete against their villagers to catch fish and win prizes.

4 Take Up Flick On His Bug Catching Challenge

Flick is C.J.'s roommate and has a similar role to C.J., but with bugs instead of fish. Flick can appear on a random day wandering around the island and will purchase all bugs from the player without challenging them first, but players that catch three of the same bug can commission Flick to make a sculpture of that insect that they can use as decor.

In June, July, August, and September, Flick hosts the Bug Off in which players compete against their villagers to catch bugs.

3 Impress Label With A Themed Outfit

Label is the sister to the two hedgehogs that work at the tailor's shop. She appears in front of Resident Services at random and will give the player a theme.

Players must then put on an outfit that they believe represents Label's chosen theme, then show her their outfit. Label will then rate them on how well they matched the theme and will give the player a special piece of clothing and coupon for her sisters' shop.

2 Help Wisp Out For A Special Item

Wisp is a ghost that can be spotted floating around the player's island after dark on any random day, including days that Celeste is stargazing. Upon talking to Wisp, this ghost will get scared and lose all the pieces to his Spirit.

The player then has to use their net to catch all five pieces to put Wisp back together. Wisp will then offer them an item and the player can choose if they want something new or expensive, but beware - Wisp doesn't really know what the player already has or understand money!

1 Sell Weeds To Leif For A Profit

Leif is another villager that will be in front of Resident Services on a random day during the week. This character is a sloth that will set up his cart, full of bush starts and flowers.

The bushes will vary and he'll always sell two colors of a bush that are currently in season while the other bushes and the flowers he sells will vary. Leif will also buy weeds from the player for more than what Timmy and Tommy will pay.
