Version 2.0 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons unexpectedly dropped a day early and fans are beyond excited, especially with all the new features that have been added but weren't mentioned in the Animal Crossing Direct.

Although the DLC wasn't released early, fans can enjoy the free features a day before they were supposed to come out. This will give everyone plenty to do before the Happy Home DLC goes live, although Nintendo has also confirmed that the Animal Crossing: Happy Home DLC will be the first and only paid DLC added to the game.

This may be the end of large-scale updates for New Horizons but the game is going out in style. Here's what you can expect to find in the final update.

Isabelle Has A New Announcement

There are tons of features that weren't actually revealed in the Direct, so you can expect some surprises when you log in. In fact, as soon as you open up your game you'll notice that Isabelle has something new to say! Something that fans have been begging for nearly since the game first came out. That's right, Isabelle will now finally announce which character is visiting the island that day.

Once you update the game she will also let you know that you can implement town ordinance now. Ordinances will cost 20k bells and become active the following day.

Brewster Is Back

Regarding Brewster, you can unlock him if you've upgraded the museum, donated art before as well as any sea creatures. And, if you want to get Brewster's quest moving as fast as possible, it's imperative that you do not take a boat tour before talking to Blathers at the museum. Otherwise, you'll have to wait an extra day to unlock him.

Blathers will also give you special framed posters as a reward once you complete a section of the museum. Once you've spoken to Blathers feel free to enjoy a boat tour, you can even clap along and do a couple of different emotes if you press different buttons on your controller.

There Are New DIYS Galore

There are tons of new DIY recipes to collect. Celeste now gives out new DIYs as well as the ones she did before. And, if you're tired of seeing your beach filled with duplicate DIY recipes you were hoping to trade later on, worry not as you can now store DIY recipes in your house storage.

You can purchase the DIY for the outside Wooden Storage Shed for the same amount of Nook Miles as the item itself. At first, it might seem silly to purchase the shed itself but, although you'll save Nook Miles, it's actually a bit expensive in terms of resources. To craft a Wooden Storage Shed, you'll need 30 wood and 10 iron nuggets.

A ton of other new items that you get in exchange for Nook Miles were also added, in fact there are apparently around 9000 new items in total in the update, including a donation box that you can craft and place on your island. This way visitors can easily show their appreciation for your hard work.

Speaking of DIY recipes, balloons now have new recipes and items inside so if you think you've gotten everything from them, you better get your slingshot out of your home storage and start shooting them down again instead of just letting them float by.

Villager Interactions Have Been Updated

Animal Crossing New Horizons 2.0 update villager Sasha rabbit

Not only do villagers ask to visit you now but they will also show up at your place completely out of the blue just to hang out. They will also play a new game of cards with you called high card low card which is much more entertaining than the RNG game you could play with villagers at the campsite. But if you see that a villager is trying to come into your home you'll have to greet them right away otherwise they'll assume you're not home and leave.

Villagers' dialogue has also been updated and they will now talk about their favorite foods. You can also watch them cook at their own place and if you interact with them they'll share the recipe with you, just like crafting and DIY recipes. Another way to obtain cooking recipes is by fishing, catching certain fish will make your character come up with a recipe.

There Are New Customizable Items And Harv Has Shops

There are many new customizable items but sadly not all fences are customizable such as the rope fence, spooky fence, hedge fence, stone fence, brick fence, bamboo lattice fence, and the imperial fence. And, if you'd like to make a multi-colored fence you're out of luck. If you place down a fence that is exactly the same and only different in color it won't connect.

You might also be wondering how much money you'll be spending on implementing shops at Harv's Island. Each shop is going to cost 100k bells and you can only complete one per day. So, if you've spent all your money changing your island, making bridges and inclines, and putting houses on the beach to redo it all, you might have to do some grinding to get that much money a day. But, you'll be happy to know that the cost of moving houses went from 50k to 10k bells. This is a major change for new players as well as older players that are completely redoing their islands.

The Nintendo Switch Online app has been updated as well, download the update and check out the new island newspaper feature and the new redeemable items that you can get for NookPoints - there’s Nook Inc. toilet paper now!

It'll certainly be a busy month for the Animal Crossing community.
