Who Is Flick?

Flick is new red chameleon character introduced in New Horizon. They are crazy about bugs and want nothing more than to buy every single one you catch. Previously, Nat was the host of the Bug Off competition, but it looks like Flick has stepped in as their replacement. When they appear on your island they'll stay hang around until 5:00AM the next day.

Flick Appears At Random (Except For Bug Offs)

As of now, Flick's appearance on your island seems to be a random occurrence. There will be no announcement when they arrive, so you'll have to wander around a bit and hope to run into them. Flick offers players a higher asking price for bugs than Timmy and Tommy, giving you 50% more than Nook's Cranny. That means it can be lucrative to save up your bugs until Flick visits your island and sell them all at once. You can also give Flick three of the same bug to have a model made that can be placed in your home.

What Is The Bug Off?

The only time Flick's appearance will be announced is during Bug Off days. These happen every third Saturday during the Summer and run from 9AM to 6PM. Here's the schedule for 2020:

Northern Hemisphere

  • June 27
  • July 25
  • August 22
  • September 26

Southern Hemisphere

  • November 21
  • December 19
  • January 16 (Complete)
  • February 20 (Complete)

It costs 500 Bells to enter the competition, but your first time competing is free. The Bug Off task you with catching as many bugs as possible in three minutes. Every bug you catch earns a point, with every third bug netting you two bonus points. Rewards are selected at random and cost ten points. Here's what you can earn:

  • Artisanal Bug Cage

  • Spider Doorplate
  • Bug Aloha Shirt
  • Butterfly Wall
  • Termite Mound

  • Ladybug Rug
  • Toy Centipede
