Animal Crossing New Horizon's Happy Home Paradise DLC lets you live out your home designer dreams by unleashing your talents on the archipelago area, where you can design custom vacation homes and facilities for lots of different clients. Included in the DLC is a variety of ways to make your designs stand out, such as new partition walls, or the ability to polish items and make them shine.
However, like a great deal of the new features in Happy Home Paradise, you have to progress to a certain point before you can start polishing things. This guide tells you everything you need to know.
What Is Polishing?
Polishing is a new interaction you can do when designing a house, whether it's your own, a vacation home for a client, a villager's house, or a facility. By pressing (L), you will change into your polishing gear and then by pressing (A) you can polish any furnishings, giving them a nice sparkling effect.
Holding (A) down does an especially thorough job, then pressing (A) again or (Y) will remove the polish effect from an item.
How Do You Unlock Polishing In Happy Home Paradise?
After completing your fourth vacation home, you'll get a little bit of conversation about Wardell polishing in the Paradise Planning office. On your next project (your fifth vacation home design), Niko will show you how to polish items — however, at this stage, you only have one available effect.
How Do You Unlock Additional Polishing Effects?
On your 12th vacation home design, not including facilities, you will unlock additional polishing effects. When you change into your polishing gear by pressing (L), you will then be able to open a new menu and choose which polish effect you would like to apply. This way, you can add all sorts of effects, from bubbles to butterflies, and more.
How Do You Create Custom Design Polish Effects?
Once you unlock the additional polishing effects, you can also create custom ones! The way this works is that you choose a set effect, then apply your design to that particlar effect. For example, choosing the butterfly effect and then a custom design will change the pattern on the butterflies.
