Fans of both Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Hello Kitty are in for a treat next month. Nintendo of America has announced that the Sanrio Amiibo card pack will finally be making its way to the US on March 26, 2021, exclusively at Target stores. Once available, fans of the massively popular Switch title will be able to bring a bunch of Hello Kitty-themed items and clothing options into their games to adorn their villages with.

In a brief trailer, Nintendo showed off the new villagers that will be included as a part of this collaboration. While they aren't specifically Hello Kitty characters, they pretty much have all of the characteristics and clothing options to make them so. You can even find a wall-mounted TV in the shape of Pompompurin's head.

This might seem ridiculously random, but Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp previously featured a set of Hello Kitty items. In Japan, themed amiibo cards were made available for purchase that included all of the same items. Interestingly, New Horizons already features all of this content, but it was previously inaccessible without paying an exorbitant amount of money to import the cards.

With the cards available to a wider audience, more people will be able to spread some Hello Kitty cheer into their villages. It's nice that Nintendo is finally making the effort to bring this content overseas, though it's strange that it would be limited to Target. This might end up being the first time in ages that amiibo actually sell out at stores since 2014.
