It's a brand new season on your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and that means there's all new crafting items to collect. For the autumn season, you can now pick up the new Acorn and Pine Cone items to use to craft brand new fall items. Here's where you can find them on your island.

The changing of a season is always a perfect excuse to return to your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, assuming you ever left. The previous summer items, summer shells, have gone away as the fall season is introduced. With it comes two new crafting materials, the Pine Cone and Acorn. You'll need plenty of these if you want to make all the new autumn related items in the game, so here's the best way to collect them.

Where To Find Pine Cones And Acorns In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

First, you need to make sure you're actually playing during your local autumn season. For those in the Northern Hemisphere that means the months of September, October, and November, while in the Southern Hemisphere that would not be until March, April, and May.

How To Get Pine Cones And Acorns

The first place you should look for pine cones and acorns in Animal Crossing is the same place you'd look for them in real life - in trees. Both of these materials can be found by giving a tree a good shake. Normal hardwood trees can drop acorns, while pine cones come from the taller cedar trees. You're not guaranteed to get any pine cones or acorns from these trees, but it shouldn't take too long to find what you're looking for among the tree branches that fall out.

Thankfully there's no limit on how many acorns or pine cones a tree can drop, and you don't have to wait for any time to pass like you did when looking for new summer shells to appear. Simply shake your trees until you get as many as you can carry. Some have estimated that there is about a 15% chance for either of these items to drop from a tree instead of a tree branch, which isn't a lot, but again there's no limit on how often you can try.

Once you have your new materials, feel free to start crafting some new recipes like the Acorn Pochette, Pine Bonsai Tree, all the Leaf Piles, and more. If you want to craft them all you'll need a total of 35 acorns and 31 pine cones, among other materials, so get shaking!
