With the autumn season now in full swing, it's time for Animal Crossing: New Horizons to receive a brand new update with lots of seasonal goods. Nintendo announced this morning that the "Fall Update" for the world's most popular life simulation game would be landing on September 30, 2020, and bring with it a bunch of Halloween goodies. We'll also see the return of Jack, the resident pumpkin king (but not that one).

As seen in the trailer below, the first addition will be some candy that you can purchase at Nook's Cranny. This can be given to your fellow villagers on Halloween in exchange for gifts. You can also eat it if you're so inclined. Along with that, pumpkins are now an item you can grow in fields. These will be used to create new DIY items that take the form of Halloween decorations.

A ton of new clothing options will be made available at the Able Sisters' store. The ones shown in the trailer are the requisite Dracula cape and witch dress, but there's bound to be others. If you want your skin to look pale for the season, some new skin tones will also be available to accessorize your Halloween attire.

Not specifically related to a game update, the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app will be receiving an update to its Nook Link function. With this, you'll have immediate access to all of your unlocked Reactions so you can spam them at friends. Since that was in Animal Crossing: New Leaf thanks to the 3DS' dual screens, that's a nice quality-of-life change.

Lastly, the Fall Update will include a Ring Con item for your home. This will be sent to all users that download the update and won't require save data from Ring Fit Adventure to access. That's not specifically Halloween themed, but it is a cool little bonus.

Nintendo has announced that the next update will arrive sometime in early November and it seems to be including both Thanksgiving and Christmas themed items. I don't specifically remember if Animal Crossing refers to those holidays by name, but it should hold New Horizons over until 2021.
